I heard on the news yesterday that his boy was being recruited so far by the Sooners and Central Florida.

Anyone know anything much about this kid? Did he just get the name and none of the talent, or can this kid play?

MJ has one son on scholly at Illinois (Jeff I believe) and I've seen video of his other son play. I think he's a point guard and can't be taller than 6'2. He looks pretty decent and he does have some hops I'll give him that. That's about all I know. Try searching youtube...

He hit a jump shot to win the state championship last weekend.

MJ's son is walkon at Illinois. I think he isn't a D-1 talent even w/a good gene pool. I think MJ can afford to pay for his son's education at Illinois. From the video it appears that the younger Jordan moves like MJ, but it sure would be nice if he was 6'6 or 6'7. I see no way that anybody offers this kid a scholarship mainly because MJ isn't strapped for cash and they can use it elsewhere.

Jeff and Marcus went originally to Loyola Academy, Marcus transfered after his sophmore year to a more of a perinial power in Chicago Basketball. Jeff was pretty good and is a prefered walkon at Ill, Marcus has better potential - when I saw him play as a Soph on varsity - he was more of a forward and his ball handling skills were avg- in hoops you can improve a lot in 3 years of highschool.

I didn't see either one being a superstar

He inherited his dad's work ethic. Can't hurt to have someone who goes hard every day in the gym.

If he wants jersey No. 23, pass. That jersey is too d@mn special now to just give to someone upon request. I think Marcus is talented, but I do not think he is jersey No. 23 talented.

Perhaps we can convince him to go with Jordan's other number, 45?

EDIT: The video linked and a few others show him wearing No. 4, No. 5 and No. 1. These might just be summer league numbers. Hmmm....

I knew he was a walkon but hadn't followed his story after that.

Isn't that something... UCF. Makes you wonder if the coach there only recruited his high school teammate so that he could get Jordan's son the next season... but, it's not like he's the second coming of Airness anyway, according to scouting reports, so I will be content with our awesome, awesome recruiting class and Coach Capel's final say on who comes to OU :)

But still... That would've been pretty sweet to see The Greatest of All Time in the stands at LNC. Maybe even wearing some OU gear? I'll keep dreaming...
