Baseball Changes Weekend Schedule
Sooners and Huskers will begin series on Saturday at 2 p.m.
March 26, 2009
NORMAN, Okla. - No. 10 Oklahoma's weekend home series against Nebraska has been pushed back one day due to inclement weather expected to hit the Norman area on Friday. The three-game series now is scheduled to start on Saturday, March 28, and conclude on Monday, March 30.
The Sooners will begin the set with the Huskers on Saturday at L. Dale Mitchell Park at 2 p.m. Game two is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. and the series finale is slated for a 3 p.m. first pitch on Monday.
The series opener can be heard on KOKC 1520 AM with Chuck Kelly calling the play-by-play, while games two and three are still to be determined. All three games will be available on the internet via Oklahoma All-Access.
The OU Athletics Marketing Department has a number of promotions scheduled for the first home series of the conference slate. On Saturday, the first 250 fans will receive an OU baseball t-shirt and the following 250 will receive an OU baseball stocking cap. In addition, the Sooners will sign autographs following the game, weather permitting. On Sunday, the first 500 fans will receive blow-up No. 1 OU fingers and kids can run the bases and play catch in the outfield, weather permitting. On Monday, the first 250 receive a free OU baseball cup with a free soft drink and one lucky fan will win a $100 Circle K gift card.
Seats remain for the Nebraska series and gates will open 90 minutes prior to first pitch. Tickets purchased for Friday's game are valid for Monday's game. Tickets are available at the gate, online or by calling the OU Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 456-GoOU. The office is open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday on the plaza level of the Asp Avenue parking garage.
I have a feeling that Saturday's game may not be played and we may have a double header on Sunday.
