Good performance by our Sooners tonight. Bowling kept me from seeing the game in full, but the parts I saw made our guards look average and the brothers Griffin look like monsters. 46 points on only 20 shots from the field is frighteningly efficient. Together they were 18 of 20 while also grabbing 18 rebounds as a pair.

I'm worried to death about our guard play. Defense was good tonight (Morgan State scored 54 points on 77 shots), but offensively they just don't seem to be quite 'there'. Maybe they will be Saturday.

I remember the last time we saw the 1-3-1, and it was not pretty. Maybe Capel won't be as stubborn as Kelvin. For those that don't remember, Kelvin had Taj rolling against WVU in 2006 but, for some instance, began working the ball elsewhere while we got steamrolled. A snide comment after the game about the name on the back not meaning as much as the name on the front left a bad taste in a lot of mouths.

We're infinitely more talented offensively now than we were in 2006, but the guards have got to hit shots. Hit even a marginal percentage and we'll win. Keep up this bricklayer trend, and hold on for dear life.

And pray T. J. Franklin never comes to the line with the game hanging in the balance.

I am happy that our bench players had playing time. I always feel bad during tourney time seeing those guys on the end of the bench cheering their hearts out, locking arms, high fiving their teammates at every timeout, knowing that they likely aren't going to see the court.

I hope we build a substantial lead in game 2 (you know, one that would have Michigan asking for another auto bailout, har har) so that we can see the likes of Franklin, Allen and Belin (sp?) again. It was always fun to see Kellen Sampson on the court a few years ago, because you knew the game was over if he was out there :D

Everytime I watch him play I'm more amazed by Griffins athletisism. Allen looks so uncoordinated out there and I know that the majority of guys that tall look a little clumsy, and Griffin is so unique.
