Barresi, John R., 58, oil and gas business owner, died Monday. Prayer service 6 p.m. Thursday, Mass 11 a.m. Friday, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (Smith & Kernke N May, Oklahoma City).

His wife was our family dental hygienist for years and they had twin sons that were at OU for a year recently but never stayed on.

Barresi was a nose guard for the 1974 national title team. My family knows their family well and through other friends, the death was untimely and obviously many are wondering what or how this happened.

I know he isn't or wasn't a star player but he is a former player and all should deserve the respect for their contributions even if it was short lived.

They'll be in our prayers. How wierd this is, cause I thought of their twin boys today wondering what happened with them. My wife had met their mom and talked OU football a few years back.
Again, their family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

He had twin sons. Joe and Ben Barrresi. Ben went to OU and Joe to Arizona only a few years ago. Neither finished at there schools, but that's very sad news and we will keep the family in our prayers. Ben had a career ending injury, not sure about Joe.

I remember the name Ben Barresi. That sucks for them. Sorry for the loss of their father.
