I have never been great at picking a winning bracket, so I'll leave it to the geniuses on here to tell me who you think will be the team to get the first upset of the tourney. I think a 3 or 4 could get upset, so I think it will probably be Miss St upsetting Washington in the first round.

In what is sure to be my first of many spiteful picks, I choose Tennessee over Oklahoma State. Rather than it just being a "nyah nyah, take that" pick, I would have to say that OSU has waited so long to get to the tourney that just getting back is good enough for them.

I will probably also spitefully choose Ohio State to fall to Sienna (bastards can't beat Texas in the Fiesta?!), Dayton over West Virginia (d@mn you Fiesta!), Boston College over USC (take THAT, cheaters!), and, yes, Butler over LSU (whose got the home field advantage NOW, beyonces?!).

Whoops, I just gave away my bracket picking strategy... well, it's not sound anyway. I fully expect to lose to all of you. ;)

First upset? Well, at 11:30, Butler has a chance, but I don't think they beat LSU eventhought they did end the season losing 3 of 4. At 11:25, CS Northridge doesn't stand a chance against Memphis. At 11:30, I like Texas A&M's chances to beat BYU. First upset!

I will go with VCU or Western Kentucky both play on Thursday.

I think Ohio State will win (game is in Dayton and Siena lost to OSU). I was also tempted to pick Ohio State over Louisville for similar reasons until I remembered my geography and realized that Louisville isn't all that much further. :)

I'm gonna go with either Temple over Ariz. St or Utar St. over Marquette. Also maybe Maryland over Cal.

Can't pick Miss. St. over UW since it is in Portland.

I'm hoping Fla. St can make a deep run this year and upset some teams too. Same with Purdue.

NDSU over KS. Maybe a pipe dream, but being in Minneapolis, it should be a near home game for NDSU. Players and fans are absolutely amped. Combine with KS who is prone to letdowns and it's possible. In reality I think they'll play one half close than get dominated in 2nd half due to lack of depth, but we'll see.

I don't consider any 8-9 game an upset. There really ins't that big of a difference. That being said:

VCU over UCLA
W. KY over Illinois (Illini PG questionable and W. KY beat Louisville)
USC over BC

Western Kentucky over Illinois

The pg for Illinois is hurt and is not effective as shown in the Big 10 tournament, and WKU can hit the three

Cornell over Mizzou. Just remember, nothing good ever happens to Mizzou. Also, always pick against Major Conference teams that had to win their conference tourney to get in. It takes to much out of them. So what I'm saying is don't pick Mississippi State.

I think to be termed a true "upset" in the 1st round, a 4 seed or higher needs to go down. I think all of the 1's, 2's, and 3's look pretty safe, although keep an eye on SFA against Syracuse. But I have all 1-4 seeds making it to round two in my bracket. Once you get to the 5-12 game, it's pretty wide open.

North Dakota St over Kansas. They don't give up any size and have great shooters. Also, I don't rate Mizzou at all even though they are top 10. They will blow out Cornell and lucked out getting Marquette without Dominic James, but are in for a rude awakening against Memphis in the Sweet 16. Speaking of Memphis, I don't think they are as good as the experts think, but they got a nice draw that should easily see them through to the Elite 8. As we know, it's all about matchups in the tournament. And as for Illinois...it all depends on Frazier, I personally think we will win, but I don't have a problem with anyone picking it as an upset.
