Dunno if it is still true, but at one time 3.2 beer was euphemistically referred to in Statutes as "Non-intoxicating alcoholic beverage".

Which, I believe, made it considered "food". Not sure why you can't eat your beer in public though.

I've eaten a lot of beer along Campus Corner on GameDay.

Hate 3.2 tho. It's kind of like fake bewbies, you'll take 'em, but much prefer teh real deal.
