There was some rumors about WW being suspended. Maybe there was something to that. Might just be in the doghouse instead of getting suspended.

Could be that WW and AJ weren't playing well together last week so Capel felt a chemistry change was in order.

Is Capel trying to get some guys playing time? Why'd Willie not get the start? Now he takes out AJ and leaves Davis in?

He is not going to start Cade over WW because of chemistry. AJ had a bum back last week and was probably why he wasn't producing. There were some rumors about WW late this week that must have had some merit to them. All good now though.

TT is 2-11 in conference play. We should have mopped the floor with them. You want your team to be playing it's best ball at the end of the season going into the tourney. So yeah, people can/will complain.

I'm plenty happy with the end result and I agree with your basic premise but with 7-8 minutes to go it was anyone's gamee and apart from the Griffin's I didn't see a bunch of urgency until the last 5-6 minutes.

I do realize that just because TT was 2-11 it doesn't mean that it was going to be an easy road game. Easy road games are rare. Plus TT did put up a good fight in Austin.

I think most of us are eager to see where we stand with Patillo playing, Blake and AJ 100% and Warren out of the doghouse. I don't know that if we lose at MU it means that we are in huge trouble but we do need to play well. A true road game at MU difficulty wise could roughly equal a 3rd round NCAA game or even a regional final. A lot is on the line Wed.

tulsaoilerfan
2/28/2009, 09:43 PM
So we ended up winning by 15, but it was close with 7 minutes left; that's not unlike a lot of the road games we have played this season; i know the OSU game at Stillwater was close and so was the ATM game until the last few minutes and i think Baylor was pretty close also, and we were at full strength in all those games; i realize Tech isn't as good as those teams, but it's hard to blow anyone out on the road in conference play no matter what their record

They have 11 losses, but they've only been mopped the floor with twice this season. One of those bad losses was to us. The other bad loss was to Texas, but they just about beat Texas at Texas earlier this week. Behind those two games, this was their third worst loss in conference.

So with better play on our side it could have been their worst beating. So what's your point?

I don't think we are playing as well as we can by any means, but we've played 2 games without the best player in the country against pretty good teams, and now 1 game today without arguably the best freshman player in the country and one of our top reserves; tell me who wouldn't struggle in those situations? Mizzou will be the best indicator of what this team can accomplish

Agreed. If we are at full strength, we are one of, if not the, most complete team out there. We now go about 9 deep with Omar getting good minutes. Very few teams out there can say that. Mizzou is the best test for us, but if we can break the press, it will be a highlight reel show for us. :pop:
