Some love from Rivals.

Guess we already knew this but ......always great to read it in print!

"The Web site cfbdatawarehouse.com, which has scads of college football statistics, shows that Oklahoma leads the nation with 31 10-win seasons. Alabama is second with 30.

Notre Dame, perhaps the most storied program in college football history, has 15. But it should be noted that from 1925-69, the Irish did not participate in bowls, which compromised their chances of 10-win seasons. Consequently, 11 of Notre Dame's 10-win seasons have come since 1970."

Significant were the schools not mentioned in that article.

They had nine 9-win seasons during that span (1925-69). A perfect bowl record during that time would give them 24 10-win seasons.

10-win seasons come a lot easier than they used to... back when seasons were only 10 games long, for example. These days...

1- Crowd your non-conference schedule with cupcakes (4 wins)
2- Take out your pansy conference foes, because each conference has at least two (2 wins)
3- Win your home games through underhanded trickery, like painting your visiting locker rooms pink (4 wins)
4- Lose the rest, including your bowl, but blame everyone but yourself (0 wins)

Total: 10 wins.
