Remember when they had all the old ladies working there. They would bring you fresh rolls & refill your drink.

:D Good times

Yeah, Czar...I miss the old grandmotherly ladies as well. Our Grandy's is now a soul food buffet.

Last time I was in Grandy's (Hurst, TX), flight 191 crashed at DFW at the same moment. I remember seeing the tall, thin storm cloud that produced the downburst to the northeast.

Besides their rolls, Grandy's is disgusting! Especially that dump that used to be next to Norman High.

Grandys was a decent place to go but I don't remember getting anything but the chicken strips and gravy with rolls. Was a lunch favorite. When did they start shutting them down?

We used to hit the one on 12th in Moore. With all that being said we also use to go to the Sambos that was across the I-35 bridge on 12th.

Yep, I love Grandy's. It has always been, by far, my favorite chicken place. My only complaint is that they're always out of something I want.

The place in Norman I miss most is Tony's Hamburger's on Lindsey. They had awesome bacon cheeseburgers for 89 cents. They were small, but you couldn't beat the price. I think cheeseburgers were 59 cents maybe. I used to go there about once or twice/week when I was at OU (1984-1988). Had lots of vintage OU photos in the place too.
