OU announces Spring football dates

Here are Oklahoma’s spring football practice dates. Most of the workouts will be closed. OU head coach Bob Stoops indicated he would announce at a later date which dates will be open to the public. Times will also be set later. Ticket information relative to the spring game will be announced in the coming weeks. The spring game will not be televised.

March 3 – No pads
March 5 – No pads
March 7
March 10
March 12 – scrimmage
March 25
March 27
March 28 – scrimmage
April 2
April 3
April 6
April 8
April 10 – no pads
April 11 – spring game

Most of the starters will sit a lot. We need to develop depth and keep guys healthy more than anything. We return a team that steamrolled its way to the championship game, so we just need to get the new pieces up to speed. I hate to say it, but this spring will be boring. :)

Stoops said the Sooners' two major scrimmages will be closed and said the Red/White Game on April 11 will be open. I interpret this as the answer for this Saturday, March 7, as closed to the public, huh? I guess I will see if I can get into the BB game.

Hrm, I posted asking why the coaches said they didn't want the game televised last year, but my post is gone... Maybe I did something bad? Probably shouldn't have called Stoops a "Girly-man", and threatened the mods in my post.

Still curious why they don't want to televise our spring game. It seems like such a cheap bone to throw us to tide us over during the Sad Days of No Football :)

Did Bradford start in the 2007 Spring game? I don't remember being excited about him before the season, and with my hazy memory, I can't even remember if we knew he'd be starting back then. Anyone else have better memory? :)
