My son currently has a tv for his ps2 and a computer with a monitor the size of an SUV. Would this one TV work for both?

that would be a standard vga input, the question is if his computer outputs in vga or dvi

if he has vga, yes

Even if his computer outputs DVI, HDMI is on the DVI platform so a simple DVI/HDMI adapter would work. Not like he's going to use the HDMI input for his PS2.

Yes, but check the manual to see what the highest resolution is that he would be able to set his computer to.

I'm not worried about the quality of the picture from the PC, just more a would this work question. I was concerned about it not showing up on the screen right???

it will show up, it's just a matter of if you can connect it with a standard vga cable, use a dvi to vga adapter, or a dvi to hdmi cable. he will need to set his computer to 1440x900 or lower resolution before shutting down and connecting that tv.

it would probably be ok for a second monitor to play DVDs or something, but using it as a primary monitor might be lame

although, my brother does this with a 32" HDTV ok

Lame how? Does it make a difference that he is only 9 and the computer is only used about once every 3 months when he decides to play some dinosaur game thats loaded on it?:D

disregard. somehow i missed the link before

it's probably fine

1440 x 900 isn't awesome, but it should be more than adequate

On mine I can get a higher resolution with HDMI than I could with the PC Input, it was OK with the laptop hooked up but I built a HTPC that had HDMI Out so I could take advantage of it.
