I saw him at Jazzfest a few years ago; my daughters basically dragged me. Once I got past "Your Body is a Wonderland" without killing the guy or puking, I heard some really good music. The guy can most definitely play. It's almost enough to make me forgive him for YBIAW. :)

Yeah, he's a tremendously talented guitar player and song writer. Unfortunately that has been overshadowed by the way his label has marketed him.

Your Body is a Wonderland, were Mayer not so popular and the song so overplayed, would be a tune that people took pride in knowing about. It's a good song lyrically and musically. Unfortunately it's become the default background music for awkward dorm room hookups.
