1: Every conf has a title game or no team does
2: Whether we have a playoff or not, there is no reason to have 30-45 days between your last game and your bowl game. Somehow decrease it to no more than 14 games
3: Playoff :D
4: Have an early signing period
5: Make every poll all season long public, I dont understand any reasoning for making it private
6: Find a way(I really dont know how to do this or if it is even possible) to make the Heisman actually go to the best player, not just the best QB on the best team
7: Why can the NCAA and the schools pimp out the players for their benefit but the players cant benefit...I dont want players flat out paid but I have no problem if a player benefits financially from advertising and memorabilia

Im sure all of you and myself will think of more later but im going to drink some beer so I will stop here for now...

All conferences should have a title game.

The long delay for the BCSCG is so TV can show all the games and get the ad revenue.

Sigining day should be BEFORE the NFL declare date.

After a player uses he college elgiblity, the NCAA should have no control over him in anyway, so pay them.

Alll polls should be public.

I disagree on the playoff. I mean, that takes away from the best regular season in sports. I think that what would be best would be a playoff for the top 8 teams AND perhaps 20 bowl games. Thats just my opinion.

1: Every conf has a title game or no team does

Why would we care if another conference decides to have a title game or not? However the Big-10 wants to decide its champion is okay with me.

2: Whether we have a playoff or not, there is no reason to have 30-45 days between your last game and your bowl game. Somehow decrease it to no more than 14 games

I think mandating that no games are played after the first weekend in January would solve this problem and would be much simpler to implement.

4: Have an early signing period

Not sure why you would want this.

5: Make every poll all season long public, I dont understand any reasoning for making it private

To keep fans from pressuring voters throughout the year.

6: Find a way(I really dont know how to do this or if it is even possible) to make the Heisman actually go to the best player, not just the best QB on the best team

First, you have to define "best player." With every position now getting an award, I don't think there is a problem with the Heisman voting. A punter can win the Groza award, so he isn't left out, unlike the old days.

7: Why can the NCAA and the schools pimp out the players for their benefit but the players cant benefit...I dont want players flat out paid but I have no problem if a player benefits financially from advertising and memorabilia

Be prepared for USC to win every national title. Hollywood can churn out far more celebrity status than anyone in the country, and every USC recruit would know he could make a cool $20,000 every year through memorabilia sales. What chance would a Nebraska player have, no matter how good he is?

Also, the NCAA has to maintain the amateur status of its athletes for tax purposes. Allowing players to financially benefit from their status as college athletes is an absolute no-no.

Here is my wish list.

1. Ban the use of corporate sponsor names on official bowl-related awards and game titles. " Corporations can sponsor games and proudly state their sponsorship status in advertising, but official bowl merchandise cannot feature the corporation's marketing. This would cut down on some of the commercialization associated with bowl games and probably cut down the number of bowl games by 20%.

2. Games cannot be played after the first weekend in January.

3. Boise has to paint their grass green.

4. Teams retain possession of the ball when fumbling into the opponent's end zone unless the opponent recovers. The ball is placed on the opponent's two yard line.

5. The names of players committing infractions are not to be announced by referees.

6. Entertaining players with female hostesses is banned. The use of hostesses is nothing more than an escort service. Tell the players to buy their own girls.

7. Bowl gifts are reduced to items worth $25 or less.

8. All players will take the GRE in their junior year. Schools will lose one scholarship for every player failing to achieve a reasonable score.

9. Freshman cannot play.

10. (This one will get under everyone's goat). No player can play in every game of the year and cannot appear on the sidelines in every game of the year. (This allows players one week during the year to catch up on academics and allows second-stringers a chance to play.)

11. Ban point-after-attempts. All teams must go for two points. Games would be more exciting and overtime would almost disappear.

12. Punts that land out of bounds are penalized for delay of game. The defense has the option of taking the ball where it left the field of play or making the offense punt again with a five-yard penalty.

aside from the playoff, i also agree that every conference should have a championship game. if for no other reason than having all conferences on a (relatively) equal playing field.

with that, however, i don't think that every conference champion is deserving of a shot in the aforementioned playoff. there's no way you would EVER get something like that passed, but fair is fair. top 8 teams in a playoff regardless of conference affiliation. this year was a good example of why - i don't think you can give 2-3 loss cincy (although we beat them) a spot in a playoff over a texas, t tech, and maybe even i highly rated osu who finished 4th in their division.

just sayin'.

1. Put all coaches and assistants on lockdown until after the post-season is over with. All football programs caught pursuing someone before their season is over with should be sanctioned by the NCAA for it. Do your interviews, hiring, firing and everything else during the OFF-SEASON.

2. All awards are given out after the post-season... Heisman included... even though this *might* have cost Sam and Jason both a Heisman, we can all agree it's fair that way.

3. Playoff. Conference champions of six major conferences with two at-large bids for the deserving independents, the Cinderella mid-majors and the 1-loss power program-types. Final game is on New Year's Day, the way God intended it to be.

4. Naked cheerleaders.

5. Beer in the stadium.

6. Round-robin play in the BIG 12... meaning OU/Nebraska is placed on Thanksgiving weekend where God intended it to be.

7. Networks are fined by the NCAA for showing crying children in the waning moments of their team's loss. They are also fined for showing mullet-headed football players waving towels when they could be showing the star quarterback's girlfriend.

8. Five-year eligibility. I mean, they're already told they can stay on football scholly five years, and with all the hot-shots who bail out on an education early, leave oppurtunities for the guys who don't have scouts salivating over them.

9. Two feet inbounds. All you hotshot receivers out there can learn to do it the right way before you go pumping your chest.

1) Needs to be an even playing field- Every conference including the MWACAAADVK conference.

2) Voting needs to be relegated to people that can legitimately rank people. I love the idea of coaches voting, but it is so biased it is unbelievable. The AP is even worse as half of those schmos only watch their regional teams. Put voting in the hands of College HOF etc...They have some bias but not as much as the coaches do.

3) Beer in stadiums is a must. Even at 9$ they are sure to get many suitors.

4) Interceptions like the Texas game need to be interceptions. I don't care if that stupid play falls under rule 912.12 Article B section 8 paragraph 2. Change the rules.

5) Coaches should be fined by the NCAA for scrutinizing the system or trying to manipulate pollsters. I enjoyed Bob sticking up for us, but I want it to be fair all around. We deserved to be at the Big 12 Championship if someone looked at it objectively.

6) Division 1 Mandated games- We don't want to see Chatty come in our house for free. I want a real game. Why can't the BCS force teams to play to at least the same division of competition.

7) Professional Refs that are young. We have neither right now. These guys have other jobs. A certain amount of professionalism must be shown, which I feel is lacking by most crews.

8) A fair bowling system...Who knows what this might be but right now it is a joke. Plus 1 is a no go. Any other bracket system is a no go. This is football not baskteball. Attendance isn't in the thousands for BBall games where it is easy to sell out the elite 8 games in arenas. We are talking about 1 game at different sites with people that could care less. Not to mention try filling a stadium that isn't at home for both teams multiple weeks in a row.

Do away with overtime, bring back ties. Think how much intrigue the revival of the tie could add to the current system. Always having a winner and loser is a not an accurate reflection of life, and sets a terrible example for players, coaches, and fans.

Or, I'd like to see college football ran more like pro boxing with multiple organizations declaring champions, and everybody being honest about the fact that is solely about the money.

Points standings. 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie. No points awarded for opponents not in Division 1A. (Which means if you play 13 games and schedule Chattanooga you've got a maximum potential of only 36 points, whereas some other team that schedules all D-1A opponents has a max of 39 and is probably going to lock you out of the championship game.) Championship game participants decided by points. In the event of ties at the top? Playoff.

Standardizing things so that every School in Div IA has to compete equally.

I know that is a tall order and it may break with some longtime Traditions in Conferences...but it's what needs to be done. The Playoff Thing can't be accomplished IMO without such a drastic change. Notre Dame, and Teams like them, would be required to join a Conference. If you don't join...then you wouldn't be able to compete in Div IA. If you didn't abide by the rule changes...you'd be put in a lower division, Banned from playing against other Div IA Teams and TV Contracts would be a thing of the past for your University.

I think the current form of the BCS Formula would work better in such a climate...but I wouldn't exclude the possibility of a Playoff System either.

Many of the smaller Bowls would still be able to offer their product to good teams and the BCS Bowls would need to be played in NFL or Non-NCAA venues. I'd also like to see a rule where 80% of the tickets sold for BCS Bowls be offered for sale via each Team's Home Ticket Office and eliminate the pre-sale of tickets for these games. This would include the Conference Championships for all teams.

If two teams(say Utah, BSU) are both undefeated and have at least one win against one of the major conferences they will be allowed to play for the National Championship.

If after the bowls there are two undefeated teams left those teams will play the following week!

Oh, and once you lose a game your right to lobby as the #1 team is over!

Ban those Buzz Lightyear Band uniforms that Texas wears; why on Earth would anyone want to wear those hideous monstrosities? :D

Make all Independents join a conference

Get rid of bowl games for 6-6 teams; mediocrity does not deserve to be rewarded with a trip to Shreveport

All conferences need to have 12 teams and play a conference championship game, or do away with them entirely; it's really not fair that the Big 12 and SEC could be impacted every year by an extra game while Ohio State and USC are sitting at home waiting for one of these conference teams to lose

I agree with several of the other ideas on this topic from other posters so i won't re-hash them

Then you've got Utahs and Boises scheduling Dukes and Baylors and a bunch of cupcakes.

I'm a playoff supporter, but the thing I'd want changed the most (and this is across all sports) is that there's no leaving early. This would really have to come from the professional leagues and I'm thrilled that the NFL has the rule that it does...I just wish we knew these players were going to be around for 4 years.

I'd also be okay with the 5th year of eligibility or the "no playing as a freshman" rules mentioned above. Any one of those rules could wreak havoc on the record books, though.

Just a few thoughts on the subject:
1. Between the month layoff and the corporate takeovers, the current bowl system is not only archaic, it does not allow determination of a true national champion.
2. Incorporate a new bowl system with a playoff system, and let them start 2 weeks after the end of the season. We're going to watch bowl games, no matter when they are played, and they undoubtedly would be televised. Assign teams to bowls in the best manner possible to have them at a nuetral site between the participants locations, and give no team a game near their home that gives them a "home team" advantage of any kind. And any game location in the northern half of the nation would have to be in inside stadiums, there are too many good stadiums available to have teams playing outdoors in the middle of winter, or on blue fields.
3. If corporations want in, let them buy advertising for the individual games, since we'll never be able to rid the game of commercial timeouts it seems, even though it would be nice. Money made from games needs to go to the schools and conferences, not a bunch of good ol' boys and corporate greedlings.
4. And I totally agree there is no need for bowl games for 6 and 6 teams, that wasted space right there would be a help in putting together a playoff system on available fields. Which would you rather watch, a meaningful playoff game, or Notre Dame and Hawaii? I rest my case!
5. And if Notre Dame wants to be included in a playoff scenario, then they join a conference, or watch the playoffs from home.

DallasSooner87

1) All teams join a conference.
2) All conference play a round robin style schedule. I like the title games but they are just money makers for conferences. Plus we would get to play Nebraska every year. The way god intended it. Also means SEC and Big 12 teams would only get 1 non-conference game, better make it count.
3) Teams must have a winning record to go to the post-season.
4) The title game must take place sooner than 3 weeks after the end of the regular season.
5) I agree with whoever said leave coaches alone until the off-season. It creates too much instability in programs.
6) Last but not least...Erin Andrews is the only person allowed to do any kind of sideline reporting.

1- Boise's field must be green

2 - Regular season should be extended to 35 games (take July off)

3- 8 team playoff using existing bowls; keep all other bowls as the consolation prizes that they already are.

To keep fans from pressuring voters throughout the year.

Collier already went line by line, but I wanted to add on:

Not sure why you would want this.

You obviously don't have much knowledge on recruiting then.

You obviously don't have much knowledge about making craploads of money. Nobody will ever consider this.

6. Entertaining players with female hostesses is banned. The use of hostesses is nothing more than an escort service. Tell the players to buy their own girls.

Like this could ever be implemented. There are jersey chasers all over every campus and the girls will gravitate to the players anyways.

7. Bowl gifts are reduced to items worth $25 or less.

You seem to be under the belief that a free scholarship is more than enough compensation for the amount of money these guys bring in at their own expense. They can't hold jobs during the seasons and many of them come from poor backgrounds. Those bowl gifts and stipends (which I'm sure you'd be opposed to if you were aware of) help make ends meet for those guys.

8. All players will take the GRE in their junior year. Schools will lose one scholarship for every player failing to achieve a reasonable score.

How in the hell did you decide to make the GRE the standard of academic progress is beyond me. Both of my degrees are pretty dependent on the completion of some type of graduate school but the College of Arts and Sciences didn't decide I needed to take the GRE to see if I was a successful student.

9. Freshman cannot play.

I'm fully convinced you misread the thread title and didn't see "make CFB better" because this is also incredibly dumb.

10. (This one will get under everyone's goat). No player can play in every game of the year and cannot appear on the sidelines in every game of the year. (This allows players one week during the year to catch up on academics and allows second-stringers a chance to play.)

They already have 2 bye weeks. Now why don't arbitrarily decide that players need 3 weeks during the year to catch up on academics.

Second-stringers have a chance to play every game. This isn't a recreational basketball league for 7 year olds.

11. Ban point-after-attempts. All teams must go for two points. Games would be more exciting and overtime would almost disappear.

12. Punts that land out of bounds are penalized for delay of game. The defense has the option of taking the ball where it left the field of play or making the offense punt again with a five-yard penalty.

Agree with both ideas here.

Could you give me some background on where you're coming from? Did you ever play sports, attend OU, etc etc? You seem really out of touch with NCAAF and reality.

Me: Why would we care if another conference decides to have a title game or not? However the Big-10 wants to decide its champion is okay with me.

It evens the playing field

Not sure how. If the Big-10 wants to award its conference champion by the color of its uniforms, how does that affect the fairness to the other teams in the country?

Voters dont get pressured by fans, they get pressured by other coaches past and present therefore if the vote is private they can fall victim to bias which is alot less likely if votes are public

If I am a sports writer and I vote OU number one, no coach can say squat to me. They have no way of knowing how I am voting, so I can just simply refuse to tell them.

If my vote is public, I am going to hear crying and sniveling every week throughout the year, from both coaches and fans. The hate mail would be a daily occurrence.

I think the current system is fine.

Easy, in 01' Roy Williams was hands down the best player in college football and placed 6th I believe because he is a def player.

Well, WE think he was the best. But obviously others thought differently. Why is our vote so much better than their's? After all, we all wanted Sam Bradford to win this year, so we have our own biases. Heisman voters have theirs.

USC doesnt sell any more jerseys because of where they are located.

Not now, because NCAA does not allow the marketing of individual players. But as soon as individual players can financially benefit, they will herd to those programs that can market them better because of their larger fan bases and access to media centers.

OU has little chance in competing in this environment. Baylor has ZERO chance.

Teams retain possession of the ball when fumbling into the opponent's end zone unless the opponent recovers. The ball is placed on the opponent's two yard line.

no

Can you explain your objection?

5. The names of players committing infractions are not to be announced by referees.

why does this matter?

These are amateur athletes. They are not being paid to play, so there is no reason to call them out publicly during a game.

Entertaining players with female hostesses is banned. The use of hostesses is nothing more than an escort service. Tell the players to buy their own girls.

This only leads to bad things as has been seen

It's more than that. These are supposed to be institutions of higher education, and they are falling to the level of employing girls, who are nothing more than thinly disguised prostitutes, to lure young men to sign. No college or university has any business engaging in such behavior.

Does OU do this? I don't know. But there are some schools that do, so I suggest getting rid of the practice altogether.

these guys bust their azz so I dont mind the gifts

I wouldn't mind if these were legitimate souvenirs. But a Wii is not a souvenir.

All players will take the GRE in their junior year. Schools will lose one scholarship for every player failing to achieve a reasonable score.

do regular students have to take this? If not then this wont fly, I never had to do this

Student athletes are on scholarship, and the abuses in allowing some athletes to play despite their academic failures is widespread.

Another solution is even simpler: If you want to play your senior year, you have to "pass" the GRE.

No more excuses. No more inflated graduation rates. No more ridiculously easy courses. If the university cannot teach you enough in three years to pass the GRE, you don't belong on campus.

Freshman cannot play.
this is dumb and will never happen

It won't happen, but why is it dumb?

BTW, can you quit using the term "dumb" with no explanation? If you have legitimate reasons for thinking an idea is bad, why not reveal them?

Leroy Lizard

You obviously don't have much knowledge about making craploads of money. Nobody will ever consider this.

It's a wish list. I admit that raw commercialization is tough to stop.

Entertaining players with female hostesses is banned. The use of hostesses is nothing more than an escort service. Tell the players to buy their own girls.

Like this could ever be implemented. There are jersey chasers all over every campus and the girls will gravitate to the players anyways.

Let them. But the universities should stay out of the escort service game. Let the players get their own girls. The practice of using hostesses to "entertain" players is disgusting and I don't see how anyone can support it.

You seem to be under the belief that a free scholarship is more than enough compensation for the amount of money these guys bring in at their own expense.

It was certainly enough for the players on those teams that didn't get into a bowl game. Did the players on Baylor's team simply quit because they didn't get any gifts at the end of the season or didn't have enough money to make ends meet? Or do all of Baylor's players come from affluent backgrounds?

How in the hell did you decide to make the GRE the standard of academic progress is beyond me. Both of my degrees are pretty dependent on the completion of some type of graduate school but the College of Arts and Sciences didn't decide I needed to take the GRE to see if I was a successful student.

But I think college sports needs to make this determination. Remember Dexter Manley?

What's to hide? If the university is really providing a quality education, then the players will pass and there will be no problem, right? So what are you afraid of?

I'm fully convinced you misread the thread title and didn't see "make CFB better" because this is also incredibly dumb.

Actually, freshmen couldn't play for a long stretch of college football. It has been done in the past. But the zeal to win at all costs ended it.

Let the freshmen come on campus and get adjusted. They can use that first year to get their lives and academics straightened out. And if they find out that the atmosphere isn't to their liking, they can transfer and not have lost a year of eligibility.

This one will get under everyone's goat).

I would create an upper deck in all stadiums where folks who want to sit down during the games could be comfortable. There would be Oxygen Vendors for them.

Not sure how. If the Big-10 wants to award its conference champion by the color of its uniforms, how does that affect the fairness to the other teams in the country?

This is a basic concept if you know anything about sports and competition, if OU can go undefeated hypothetically and then they still have to win an "extra" game just to move on, then so should Ohio St if they go undefeated, otherwise get rid of all of them

Its part of the job, its called responsibility. If you have a job where your work is observed daily then your opinions on who is the best team should def be public. If it is private then some hack from Austin could vote Texas #1 even if they were 9-3

Well, WE think he was the best. But obviously others thought differently. Why is our vote so much better than their's? After all, we all wanted Sam Bradford to win this year, so we have our own biases. Heisman voters have theirs.

Without the current system SB or Jason might not have won, but if they arent the true best player and are just the best qb on the best team, that isnt the definition of the Heisman. The Heisman has become partly watered down and it is because of the way the voting has trended

Not now, because NCAA does not allow the marketing of individual players. But as soon as individual players can financially benefit, they will herd to those programs that can market them better because of their larger fan bases and access to media centers.

If I buy a #14 jersey I know it is Sammy B, why not put his name on it and let him make a few $ for the pimping of him. Being in Cali wont affect me buying that jersey or not. You know what though, if a Mark Sanchez jersey sells more than someone else then so be it. If you are so against college athletes getting any money then the universities shouldnt be able to sell anything with a current players number on it.

Can you explain your objection?

Sure, part of football is posessing the football. If you fumble the ball out of the back of the endzone while trying to score then you lose the ball.

These are amateur athletes. They are not being paid to play, so there is no reason to call them out publicly during a game.

This doesnt affect me one way or another, I just dont mind it.

I wouldn't mind if these were legitimate souvenirs. But a Wii is not a souvenir.

Well then, since you are a professor and you are doing your job and educating lots of students and doing a great job at it, I recommend that you no longer get a bonus, you just get a big box of books and pens.

Student athletes are on scholarship, and the abuses in allowing some athletes to play despite their academic failures is widespread.

Another solution is even simpler: If you want to play your senior year, you have to "pass" the GRE.

Why the GRE as SNP asked, what makes it the be all end all of academic success. Regular students cheat and text and doodle during class, will they be forced to prove their education as well?

It won't happen, but why is it dumb?

BTW, can you quit using the term "dumb" with no explanation? If you have legitimate reasons for thinking an idea is bad, why not reveal them?

What is your argument for this? Getting adjusted? I didnt play college athletics, am I going to be forced not to play intramurals my freshman year? More often than not if you are playing as a freshman you are really good and whether you agree or not, really good football players are trying to get paid, not pass a test. If they can keep their grades while playing then so be it.

Joe Paterno has called for banning freshman play on numerous occasions. How much does he know about college football? Well, he's been coaching for 59 years.

That isn't to say he must be right, but the ban on freshman play is hardly a wild idea. There must be some reason for it if Joe Pa advocates it.

Sure, if every football player had no problem adjusting to college life, then ther would be no need for such a rule. But that isn't the reality.

And I don't care if a player WANTS to play. It's not about what they want.

If they can keep their grades while playing then so be it.

That goes without saying, Captain Obvious.

Joe Paterno is probably for the return of leather helmets, which, like the ban on freshman playing, is from a time that has passed.

Give OU another national championship. Or two or even three... yeah, I'd be a lot happier with CFB right now if we were sitting on 10 instead of 7 national titles. But hey, I'm greedy. ;-)

LL, what is right about it?

I already stated what is right about it. Here we go again.

It allows freshmen time to settle into collegiate academic life before having to divert their attention to sports.

That is why the ban was originally put in place. You may not agree with the reason, but don't pretend there isn't one.

Who cares if coaches want it? Coaches would probably be in favor of unlimited eligibility and no entrance requirements whatsoever. I only pointed out Joe Pa to show that I wasn't the only one that thought this was a good idea.

But besides Joe Pa, Dean Smith has already called for a ban on freshmen playing in basketball. So has Terry Holland, coach of Virginia. In fact, the NCAA considered an entire Dvision I ban for basketball about ten years ago. Since football is probably more strenuous, the same arguments would apply.

So it is not a wild idea and I think it would help with players' academics.

Okay, it is your turn. What is so bad about it?

7) Professional Refs that are young. We have neither right now. These guys have other jobs. A certain amount of professionalism must be shown, which I feel is lacking by most crews.
.

Agree 100%. And also, a "de-regionalization" of the officiating crews is needed. Get the referees out of their own back yard.

Bottom line, college football is a big money sport. Not far from pro football in terms of ad sales, ticket sales, etc. There is money to bring in professional refs, as well as refs with no ties to a particular team, or at least not to a team within their officiating realm.

For one, I dont think you are giving these 18 and 19 yr olds any credit, they are old enough to handle the riggers of war and the workforce but not school and playing sports? Im not going to act like academics is #1 priority in sports cus we all know it isnt, but I think most students can adapt. Again, you cant institute that for athletes if you arent going to do it for all students, I had no idea how to study when I got to college and had horrible grades my freshman year, are you going to give me a year to adapt and erase my grades so my transcript looks better? :D

Make it mandatory that all series be home-and-away series.

I know everyone has their favorite changes -- but I sincerely believe this would have the most dramatic effect on competition of any change we could make. If you couldn't just fill your stadium and pad your schedule with lame patsies, you'd schedule some decent competition, and we'd actually see how good these teams were over the course of the regular season.

It'd be good for TV (better games, higher ratings), it'd be good for the sport, but it would have a downside -- fewer home games. But I'm not sure exhibition games against East Popcorn State or the seven Louisiana teams which aren't LSU really count as much of an "exhibition".

Some can handle the (ahem) "riggers" of war and some can't. Some can handle school and sports right out of high school, and some can't.

But your argument has one serious flaw: We have 18-year-olds handling the "riggers" of war out of sheer necessity. We would prefer they don't. But the nation's security hardly depends on freshmen playing football. There is no compelling reason to have freshmen playing football. None at all.

Im not going to act like academics is #1 priority in sports cus we all know it isnt, but I think most students can adapt.

By the same token, I am sure most can adapt to not playing football their freshman year. So why not implement the rule.

Again, you cant institute that for athletes if you arent going to do it for all students,

Absolutely you can.

I had no idea how to study when I got to college and had horrible grades my freshman year, are you going to give me a year to adapt and erase my grades so my transcript looks better?

I am advocating a system where the student doesn't get the bad grades to begin with. THAT'S THE POINT.

You still have yet to tell us what bad things will happen if the ban on freshmen play is instituted. What are the negatives?

Make it mandatory that all series be home-and-away series.

Both the strong and weak teams would be against this rule change. La-La makes more money playing in Austin then they do playing at home. And UT likes playing at home because it guarantees another victory against a patsie.

I agree that it would be great if this came about, but few college ADs would be in favor.

Get rid of the new clock rule just installed. Seems like the excitement toward the end of the game is gone now.

This thing of trying to find other ways to speed up the game to offset things like replays is stupid. People go to football games to have a good time and enjoy the venue and the contest. Who cares if it lasts a little while longer? Same myoptic issue in baseball. The Commissioner is almost paranoid on shortening the game times by a few minutes. Why? People to go enjoy these events.A few minutes either way don't make no difference.

maybe so, so lets say a quality win over a big boy conference foe. Say a top 20 team at the time they played.

That seems too arbitrary too me. I like the direction you're headed...I just think there has to be a better way.

I've got another one that's really out of the NCAA's control, but I'd like to see no polls until at least the first weekend of October. Voters are getting better about moving teams around based on their performance, but too much emphasis is still put on how good they guess the teams are going to be before a single game is played.
