Happy Saturday! One of my seven most favorite days of the week! I'd like to call to attention to Sooner Fans everywhere that the Sooners are currently undefeated and tied for first place in next year's football season!

On a more serious note, this video has recently surfaced. I'd like to know who made this video because I hear some very uncharacteristic tuba tones in there, and the firing squad is getting antsy due to the unfortunate fact that I don't know who was making them. A tuba should NEVER play that loud!

What year's Big XII was this?? It was when Boone-tang was still around! I might have been in that band!

I think that is the 2003 CCG. Those are the latest color guard uniforms, which we didn't have at the 2000 CCG. They got those during the 2002 season, when we went to the Rose Bowl, but played the CCG in Houston. I don't see parkas on the band, and I know the 2003 CCG was the first game where we had the parkas, but we didn't wear them on the field for some odd reason. We wore them in 2004, but didn't play for the title in 2005. It could have been 2006, but I don't know if Boone was still there...that was after my time in the Pride.

Really brings back some fun memories for me.

Glad Britt hasn't gone and F'd up pregame like he has halftime or during the game.

2000 was the coldest game we've played in KC, and we didn't even have coats on.

Of course, knowing we were going to Miami made it much better.

God that was an awesome year.

The announcer says right before Boomer that it's the 2004 Pride of Oklahoma.

Thanks for posting that. Takes me back almost 30 years.

Oh dear. Next time a band dude tries to record pregame from marching, let it not be a tuba. So... dizzy... from... watching... feeling... nautious... everything's... swaying... now... ugghhh... bleeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhh!

Yeah, it really should be a flute. No one will notice if they're not playing. ;)

Better not let a trumpet do it. They suck so much, no sound would be able to reach the mic through the vacuum.

I know there is video out there of marching pre-game from a mellophone. I wanna say it was the Rose Bowl pre-game as well.

It certainly couldn't be a mellophone, because they'd be too busy fighting over who would be the one on camera most. :P

Saxes would forget to hit the record button, and the Bones would drop the camera ten seconds into the recording. ;)

Yeah, I really miss the crowd. Being on the field for the "Boomer! Sooner!" chant and the National Anthem always made me smile...

we didn't have parkas in the late 70's. You're sissies just for having them. :D

Running out of the tunnel to 72,000 screaming fans was always memorable. I really enjoyed the accellerando into Oklahoma with everyone on their feet clapping with the Pride. Nothing like it.
