Selecting the 2 best teams from each decade (40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90-99, 00-09) and I know 2009 has yet to be played but it's close enough...so there will be 14 teams plus 2 wild cards to set up a 16 team bracket based on what I think are the best from each decade. I will then seed them and set up who plays who, etc...

And before any of you assume I have too much time on my hands....I don't; I am actually working. I film lectures and I have some time to mess around on here considering each class is 2 hours mostly and each hour must be filmed.

So...here I go!!!

2 Brackets: Bear Bryant Bracket & Tom Osborne Bracket (8 teams each: 8 seeds)

BEAR BRYANT BRACKET
(1) 1995 Nebraska vs (8) 1949 Notre Dame
(3) 1992 Alabama vs (6) 1969 Texas
(4) 1972 Southern Cal vs (5) 1986 Penn State
(2) 2005 Texas vs (7) 1945 Army

TOM OSBORNE BRACKET
(1) 2001 Miami vs (8) 1958 LSU
(3) 1971 Nebraska vs (6) 1955 Oklahoma
(4) 1974 Oklahoma vs (5) 1980 Georgia
(2) 2004 Southern Cal vs (7) 1961 Alabama

BBB- SEMIFINALS
(1) 1995 Nebraska vs (3) 1992 Alabama
(4) 1972 Southern Cal vs (2) 2005 Texas

TOB- SEMIFINALS
(1) 2001 Miami vs (3) 1971 Nebraska
(4) 1974 Oklahoma vs (2) 2004 Southern Cal

BBB- FINALS
(1) 1995 Nebraska vs (2) 2005 Texas

TOB- FINALS
(1) 2001 Miami vs (2) 2004 Southern Cal

THIRD PLACE
(1) 1995 Nebraska defeats (2) 2004 Southern Cal

CHAMPIONSHIP
(2) 2005 Texas defeats (1) 2001 Miami

It sucks choosing Texas and I know I will get crap for not choosing 95 Nebraska but remember this is an opinion, so be gentle on me.

You should've chosen 1956 OU over 1955.

I know every team is different but is there really a difference between the 2? Both were in the heart of the 47 game winning streak.

This was 30 years before I was born, but looking at the rundown of the season, they were putting up some sick, sick numbers, especially for that era of football. They weren't scored on until the 4th game of the season, pitched 6 shutouts in 10 games, and averaged 46.6 points per game. That's pretty damn impressive.

What was the score of the (2) 2005 Texas vs (7) 1945 Army game?

2000 Oklahoma.

Until you score on them, you can't say you'd beat them.
