putting an otherwise worthless item on eBay?

I was cleaning out a closet over the weekend and have a box-o-stuff to either:

A) Throw away
3) "Donate" to Goodwill
-or-
VII) Put on eBay

I am not a "regular" ebayer (that name alone is gay), but I did sell a pair of shoes once for $15 (plus shipping). It was a pair of Nike Shox that were not in good shape. I really think there is a market for anything.

I'm sure I've sold worse crap for more money, just can't think of it right off hand.

I sell motorcycle parts all the time. Highest ticket item so far was over $500.00.

I have tried selling clothes but there a tough sell. But if you have something interesting, try it. You maybe out $1.50 if it doesn't sell, plus your time.
Even if it does sells, but sells cheap you have a lot of time invested, posting it,answering questions, packing and shipping it.

I am putting this up for sale on ebay this weekend

You could try craigslist. It's free to list. I would think it was better for this kind of stuff.

I bought a suit at a consignment store for $25, that I sold on eBay for $700. I'm not saying what brand.

I sold Orange Bowl tickets that my poor mother bought accidentally instead of BCS tix. Sold for about 1/2 face value...Those were some worthless tickets. Ours went higher than most...avg price was about $75/pair; we sold them for $135 for club level seats
