The figures don't lie.

Consider: During the course of the season Florida averaged 445 yards of total offense a game. That included games against teams like Citadel and Florida. The Sooners D (Second in the Big 12, giving up 360 yards per game) held them to . . . . . . . .480 yards. Florida had both more yards rushing (249) and passing (231) then their season averages (231 and 214, respectively).

Meanwhile, OU averaged 547 yards a game on the season. Against Florida they could only manage 363 for the entire game. The rushing was down (107, vs the season average of 198) and the passing was down (256 vs. 349).

Kudos to Florida's defense, and brickbats to OU's D.

"Just" 24 points, though. And 2 picks that OUr offense couldn't do anything with.
And are you sure about that 480? My Gator friend said it was about 380. I won't look it up, but maybe somebody else will.

Our D has given up yardage all year. I wasn't worried about that. They produce turn overs. That's what they have done all year.

The O should have scored. Period.

Defense played well enough for us to win. 24 points and 2 turnovers. We should've scored a lot more than we did.

it doesn't matter about yards. Bend but don't break. OU's D did their job and held Florida to only 7 pts in first half. We should have had 21 or 13 at the least. They made the stops and gave our offense a chance to take the lead time after time. But we couldn't get it done.

props to our defense. I told all the doubters they'd be surprised about OU's defense.

And our offense only had half the yards (150 to 300) against LSU in the Sugar Bowl yet we nearly tied it up at the end. FSU had almost 100 yards more than us yet we beat them by two scores. Point?

yup.

defense did its job and held an offense that averages 55 points to a mere 24... had the offense gotten into the endzone, just on red zone possessions, it would have been a 28-24 sooner win.
