My favorite Islamic holiday - when people take to the streets and bloody themselves to commemorate the death of Muhammad's grandson, who died in some battle and probably lost less blood than the present day celebrants.
Pics are too graphic to post here, but follow this link to see what all the fun is about. My favorite is the poor kid with the pacifier in his mouth, looking like he'd just been given a brainbuster on the concrete by Ric Flair, back in the day.
