Congratulations Utah. You beat the #5 team in the nation. Just ask Alabama where they shop for all their national championships.

I really dislike his columns. This one is no exception.

This article is written by guy who works for a media conglomerate that recently dove head first into that huge money pit he talked about. He works for a company that controls sports media and uses that audience to act as a shill for the SEC, USC, and Texas.

Utah did deserve a shot at the title. It's too bad they didn't get that shot. But they won't be national champions, and that's according to the system that HE (through his employer) supports.

I guess we shouldn't play then. All that work, money, and time for nothing.

Congrats though to Utah...this year's Auburn Tigers.

Reilly is a tool.

he lives in Colorado and it's "hip" thing to be on the Utah tip out here, even among CU fans. If Ball State or Rutgers were undefeated all the CU fans and the 8 or 9 other college football fans in Denver...would all be saying they play in a **** conference...East Coast media bias, etc.

and what cheesyq says is also 100% correct.

Reilly's "thinking man's" sports columns are emotive crap, too.

Reilly should wait until all of the games are played before he decides who has the best team.

Honestly, does anyone really think UTAH would even be a 3 loss or better team with our schedule? Meanwhile OU would blow every team off their schedule and hang 60 on almost every one of them. It shouldn't even be a discussion...

Reilly has hated OU since the Switzer years, and never really made any secret of that fact. My favorite response to his idiocy is at EDSBS (http://www.everydayshouldbesaturday.com/). You have to scroll down a little, but it's worth the visit. You'll laugh.

Rick Reilly complains about the money-grubbing world of college football.

Hey Rick, you recently signed a contract with ESPN for $17 million!!! You write 500 emotive, pointless bull**** words a week, usually about a kid who plays chess with one arm or a fisherman who overcame some life-threatening disease to win 14th place at the world bassmaster classic. You're the writer equivalent of Bob Ley, only 5000 times more melodramatic. you never really write about sports anyways, so why are you starting now?
