You do realize that Skynyrd is from Lake Asbury / Docotr's Inlet area, about 50 miles from Titletown, don't you? Big gator fans. Used to go watch them practice in an old barn next to my grandfathers property back in the early 70's before they made it big.

How about some Molly Hatchet Gator Country? More homegrown talent.

Tom Petty is from Gainesville too. Rebel without a clue.

Oklahoma got any good classic rock guys from that area?

Here's a list you can view.

It might take you awhile but if you start now...you can get through it by Sunday.

www.oklahomarock.com (http://www.oklahomarock.com/blog/?cat=350)

It's got a little of everyone in there but I'm sure you've got plenty of time to go through it.

Hoyt Axton wrote some good songs for Three Dog Night. Does that count? ;)

"Well I've never been to heaven, but I've been to Oklahoma
They tell me I was born there, but I really can't remember"

You may want to check just a little bit further... Steve Gaines, one of the members of LS who died in the plane crash was from Miami...Oklahoma. So was his sister Cassie, who was one of The Honkettes -- the back-up singers for LS.

Now to the nitty-gritty. Sure, the names your listed are outstanding rockers, and you are justifiably proud of them. But, you really don't want to go there in comparing musical talent/success with Oklahoma (which, by the way, has a population slightly smaller than that of greater Dade/Broward counties). Leon Russell comes to mind. So does the GAP band. So does JJ Cale. So do Reba, Garth, Vince, and a host of country superstars. I could go on, but you get the drift.
