it sounds like he wants to slam OU, but then did (a little) research to find something out. i think the last 2 pages were fairly positive, but the first page made him sound like a southern cal loving dooshbag.

I think it is a positive article overall. The first page is just a setup to hook the reader with exaggeration of what they have already heard and read. The meat of the article is that maybe numbers don't tell the tale. Remember, this is a SoCal paper for readers who think the USC defense should have gotten their team into the title game.
