This is a movie out in some theaters now with a lot of award buzz.

I checked it out and highly recommend it. The plot is a little weird - a kid who grew up in the Mumbai (nee Bombay) slums is winning a ton of money on the Indian version of Who Wants to Be A Millionaire. The plot focuses on him and his brother and a girl growing up through some pretty incredible poverty and misery, and how he knows all these answers though he has no education.

Some of it is in Hindi (the beginning). The same director made the movies Millions and Trainspotting. It def. has a lot more in common with Millions.

Definitely a must-see. One of the best movies I've seen in a while. It pulls out pretty much every movie cliche there is, but it works in this case. The music is awesome too.

Does it have Jedi?

If it does...I bet Johnny Mack won't like it.

It was entertaining, but "Best Picture?"

BTW, Frieda Pinto is flippin' gorgeous. An Indian of Portuguese parentage. Hot-cha-cha!!!!

Better on the big screen.

Nominated for best screenplay, won the Golden Globe in that catagory.
That plus best director is a clue that a movie is worth a watch.

Basically a morality tale of how the 2 brothers react to their unfotunate circumstances. Haven't seen the other nominated films. This is one that people can relate to. Those young boys are sweet to watch.

Music's great,too.

It's a lot better than Forrest Gump II, though Brad Pitt was entertaining.

I saw it and liked it. Now, I want to see Benjamin Button to see which one deserves Best Picture.

Slumdog has some of the best cinematography I have maybe ever seen. Some really striking shots that frankly even made squalor beautiful.

One of the most original story lines I have ever seen. I really really liked this movie and it is in my top 5 now.

I watch a lot of movies and this one really got me going and I couldn't wait to see what happens next.

What is the dudes infatuation with **** though! If you liked the scene in Trainspotting where he takes a dip in that nasty toilet then you will like Slumdog!

I don't know if it'll crack my all-time top 10 or not, but it was a damn fine flick. I highly recommend it.
