ONLY songs I ever liked by Kenny Rogers were those 4 or 5 hits he had with the First Edition, including, "Ruby".

Could be wrong, but I thought that Ruby was written by Mike Settle. Settle was in the First Edition, which later became Kenny Rogers and the First Edition. He grew up in Muskogee.

For years watching that movie, I had no clue that was actually Kenny Rogers. I've still had a hard time digesting it until I saw him actually singing it...
