By virtue of the fact that they were ranked #1 for 5 weeks AND they only lost to 2 teams at the end of the season by 11 and 14 points.

The Tide AD stated that the new national title was fully justified since Bama had been ranked #1 longer than any other team this year.

Excellent. And this probably has more basis for a claim than many of their other "MNCs".

I thought Alabama looked overratted all season long, and I didn't like JPW's style at all. He looks clumsy, no style.
