Most people on here we pretty openly rooting for Bama pregame.

Once the game started and Utah turned it on, it's hard not to root for the underdog; especially when Texas Tech laid an egg against Ole Miss. Like others have said, the SEC seems to get each other off which can be quite annoying. The SEC (sans Bama) seems to ride each others coat tails, despite if they've contributed or not. It doesn't really makes sense. Your team > your conference.

Thus, why people started rooting for Utah once Bama looked down and out.

This is going to sound extremely ad hoc, and to some extent it is, but bama's whole argument before playing UF wasn't that they were faster, it's that they would pound the ball down our throats and beat us up.

Bama's game is to be a better, slightly more athletic version of the Big 10, and if you look at the articles preceeding the UF* Bama game, you'll see that's what they emphasized.

But give Utah their due. They handled Bama every bit as convincingly as UF did. More so, actually, this game was never in doubt.
