I once again come for the sage and sarcastic advice of Soonerfans.

We are looking to replace an old tv in our workout room (yes the intent is to use it in the new year). It doesn't have to be anything special, but I would like for it to at least last a little bit. Does anyone have any suggestions for something like this?

If you're not looking for exceptional quality, the Vizio I use for my bedroom TV has been more than adequate.

Best Buy was throwing some pretty good sale prices on their Sony Bravia models before Christmas - you might check those prices.

When I bought mine, I got a pretty good deal at crutchfield.com. It cost me less there than it would have from Best Buy, at least for the particular one i wanted. The shipping was free and whatnot and they even threw in a free Blu-ray player at the time. I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, but they're never done me wrong.
As far as a brand is concerned, I usually just stick with Sony, so I doubt I would be of much help there.

I've got a 32" Olivia hanging in the bedroom and it has been great so far. It was around $500 a couple years ago. Plus, it's the "official HDTV of ESPN"!

Here's some from newegg.com that include free shipping, FYI.

Definite compare prices. At the low end, I have Vizio and Westinghouse LCD's that have helped us nicely for a couple of years. At the higher end, I have a Sony LCD which is very nice, albeit more expensive. Figure out your price range, then compare whether screen size or quality is paramount.

If you want to save some money go ahead and get the 720 dpi TV instead of the 1080 dpi. They are quite abit cheaper, and I couldn't really tell much difference between the two. One of my co-workers says that you need a 1080 dpi only if you plan to watch Blue-ray DVD. Otherwise, its just as well to go 720 dpi.

Mine's been in operation probably 6-7 hours per night (yeah, I fall asleep with the TV on) for the last year and a half with no problems. Just don't expect it to blow you away with PQ or anything.

We have a Westinghouse on the wall in the bathroom. Like your Vizio, it doesn't have superb PQ, but it does good enough to watch CNN or ESPN in the morning while I'm getting ready for work.
