View Full Version : How many points do you need?

Let's pretend that magically you could be guaranteed a certain number of points that OU would score in the game. No guarantees would be provided about how many UF would score.

How many points would you need to be guaranteed here today to feel comfortable about the game 1/8? And don't say 1,000 or something--I want to know the number at which your confidence goes from meh to good.

For me, it's 38. I'm sure UF will score, and our defense has its hands full. I think if we get to 38, we'll win. Plus, 38 is a bit of a magic number at OU.

45 for "good" confidence. I think we can win with fewer points.

I have been thinking about this for a while and I am good with 42. Florida will score around 28 and I want us to win "decidedly" by at least 2 touchdowns

I can see them scoring 38, and yeah I know -- I'm not a total believer in our D, and yes that is a bit of a slap at BV. Sorry, but been there done that. Come on BV, make me a believer!

...and yes, I think Bob is heavily involved in our defense at this point, so come on Bob!

I think 38 is good enough as well. However, I think OU will score slightly more...say 49.

I wish.

I think the D plays with a lot of tenacity in this one, but I don't think we have the horses to hold them less than 24 or so.

78 and here is why... #1 6 games in a row at least 60 points #2 shows that the sec def wasn't a factor and finally #3 tops the 77 we put on that weak D of ATM

I'd also be interested to know any Gator fans' opinion on the reverse of this. How many points would you need to feel secure in a Gator win, given no guarantee of the # scored by OU?

I'd feel better at 45, but I could live with your 38.

I'll take 53....I think we only need 36 but I want an as$ kicking.

After thinking about this, I have come to the decision that 42 is a good number and we should be safe with that.

In a perfect world we would win somewhere along the lines of 63-14 though ;)

You got this right. I'm with you on this. I truly do believe that our D will come out and shock UF and a lot of people with how they play. With our D taking control, then our O will light up the stadium with their running and passing. Just another record or two broken.:)

42 and I will say we win no doubt, I think with the time off, the advantage will go to the defenses, the offenses will score but not like they were at the end of the year...

Oral Roberts came to me in a dream last night and said to put $50 on the Gators.

I guess my question is, "Do you think he's a reliable and credible source?"

TIA

Doesn't sound like he's confident in his choice.

A more interesting question will be how many points our team is comforatble with. ??

After all the smack they've heard this month they very well might suprise everyone and open up an unlimited can of whupass.

In the very unlikely event that we have the opportunity to run it up, I think we will not hold back. If the game is at all in doubt, we certainly will keep scoring if we have the chance.

I think this game hinges completely on our defense. If we can get a stop or two (or even a TO) early, I think that gives us the confidence and rattles them a bit. If the O can deliver points on those opportunities, the chance is there for a big win. That's about the only way I think we win. I don't think we win trading scores/shootout style. I also don't think that's the way the game will go.

I wish it were 1/8.

I've got OU picked to win 52 to 28. So I'm happy with putting 52 up, that would make me feel safe.
