Why is Florida University touchy about being called FU?

Hey, we're the University of Oklahoma, and go by "OU". I sense Florida Gators fans are sensitive about being called FU. Go figure!

UF has an ag college, a med college, a business college, engineering, architecture, education, law .......... I would have to say the the ag college is probably one of the smallest parts of UF, oops, FU.

FSU actually does have a circus college, hence why we refer to them as a clown college.

College of Agricultural and Life Sciences is in fact the 4th largest college at UF out of 16( or 17 cant remember off the top of my head) and the Florida Agricultural College is the main precursor to the present University. IFAS is also the leader for ag research in the state. I say all this because CALS is a very big part of UF as agriculture is the 2nd largest industry in the state behind tourism. It is also what carried the state when tourism dropped like a rock after 9/11. Not trying to jump on G8trGr8t in any way but I'm proud as heck of my college and industry and had to speak up about it. Now...feel free to make fun of me for such a lame post. Go Gators!
