With what he went through those first two seasons, it is very deserving.

Ah, yes, Jordan Shipley's injury. The one that prompted Mack Brown to close preseason practices because the news was there and they reported that Shipley limped off. Ole Mack said, "I don't want a player's momma find out from the news that her kid got hurt. I should be the one to call her."

Complete and utter bull****:

a) Shipley's dad was at said practice

b) Is he going to tape delay all broadcasted games by 15 minutes so if someone gets hurt he can go call their mom?

Good for him. But now we have to deal with all those crossing routes all over again :/

Good for him. I hope he makes the most out of it...in every game except one.

He looks to be 45. Is this his 27th year of eligibility? If so, he will be tied for Jason White's record.

In other news, Kasey Studdard has been granted extra time as well.

You would have thought that from all the crying coming from Austin, the whole dang team would have gotten a medical hardship.

I am happy for him but why did they just bring up his injuries from his first 2 seasons now instead of when they happened. When you apply for medical hardships do they have to come at the end of your "senior" season?

Collier11

I think that is typical

Looks like Texas is already planning for next year's run for the National Championship.

He's a good guy, brother in law was on the staff at Burnet when he played. Hope he does well and I'm happy for him, but I wish he was gone, he does to damn well against the Sooners.....

Isn't that sweet, he gets to spend another year with his boyfriend, Colt.

Also, I suppose he will be able to pick up his Master's degree between now and Spring, '10.

We will have so much linebacker and defensive back depth next year, shipley may find himself injured again.

Ok, now that we got our sportsmanship responses of "good kid" and "he deserved it" out of the way, let's move right on to the "Texas sucks" ones...

1- Shipley would miss Colt too much to be away from him this next season.
2- Mack's hugs are the only thing that keep this guy going.
3- What, you really think some NFL team would DRAFT him?! lololololol
4- Where will the feel-good roommates out fishing like their daddies story go if he left?
5- Who would trim Colt's unibrow if Shipley was gone?
6- Shipley threatened to pull Colt out of the closet with him if he couldn't stay in Austin.

Six reasons, in honor of the six Big 12 championships OU has that Texas doesn't in 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008:D

No doubt that Texas will be in the top 3. OU should care because that will be a marquee win on our way to our second national title.

How will Mack ever explain this to his kids - a third place finish despite having the same record as the two teams ranked in front of Texas? How dare they leave Texas out of the top two discussion when they are clearly equal? The BCS is a sham! The Big 12 tiebreaking system is sham! I'm a sham! You're a sham! Shammy Sham shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam!!

kazaam. :P

PS: Don't you mean NINTH title? Dear oh dear, have we spotted a bandwagoner aboard our mascot bandwagon? ;)
