For the record Toby Keith is an economy size bottle of lame-sauce. Just because he wears a stocking cap year 'round, shaves once a month, and occasionally sings songs about patriotism and drinking beer does not mean that he is cool. I am a life long Okie and I am proud to say that I have never, nor will I ever, purchase an album of his.

It has nothing to do with his political views and everything to do with his pompous attitude. Nothing makes me prouder to be a Sooner than seeing that ***-clown on the side lines or court side of a Sooner sporting event, with his smug half grin that reeks of unwarranted machismo

Was Toby on the sidelines when Blake was here? What about Jim Ross?

A pair of frontrunners they are.

Remember that time that Toby Keith managed to sucker his way into dressing out for the Red-White game back in the mid-90's and he broke his ankle? To this day, it's still my favorite thing he's ever done.

And leave good ol' J.R. out of this, Brando.

Amen to that!!!

Although, to be fair I was at WWF Monday Night Raw in 1997 when Blake was the head coach and JR was introduced to Boomer Sooner.

Good point. Toby wouldn't have been allowed on the sidelines because he wasn't throwing wads of money at the University then.

and now you know...the rest of the story...good day?

We didn't have a starf*cker athletic director back then. And also, Toby Keith was a giant plate of nobody.

What are the odds, that when the Stoops era is over, and we have a few 3-4 loss seasons, Toby disapears from the sidelines?

Are we still talking about our favorite Steely Dan songs or Toby Keith's favorite Steely dan song?

I've never owned a Toby Keith album, but I did go to a concert at the Ford Center a while back. We got invited to the suites, so we went. I kind of roll it all up like I did the Elton John concert I went to in the same suite. Didn't really wanna go, went, and very much enjoyed both concerts. It could have had something to do with the free booze/food/tv/etc. or the fact that Bob Stoops, Mike, Brent, Schmitty, and Matt Millen were in the suite next door partying down, but I don't think so.

If I had to pick a favorite Toby Keith song it'd have to be that Whiskey for my men and beer for my horses dealio. Of course I don't know the names to any others, and that might not even be the name for that one. Wait, I know one I think - I love this bar? That one is OK too.

My favorite Toby Keith song was when he sang the national anthem just before OU doled out a heaping helping of defensive asswhip on Florida State in the Orange Bowl. Game, set, match.

Other than that I don't care that much for commercial country.
