He became the fourth Sooner to win the Outland Trophy, awarded to the outstanding lineman in the country, in 1978. He was also a consensus All-American in 1978, and also received All-America honors in '77.

During his senior year, most of the Sooners' plays were run over his right guard position, as OU led the nation in scoring and rushing and finished second in total offense. Using his incredible speed and strength, He opened hole after hole for Heisman Trophy winner Billy Sims.

He was drafted in the second round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1979.

How about THIS GUY ?

A scorpion-like defender, he is considered one of the best linebackers in school history. He came out of the box early in his Sooner career when he was selected Defensive Newcomer of the Year in the Big Eight as a sophomore in 1989.

He had 75 unassisted tackles during his All-American senior season in 1991. He also had two interceptions, both returned for touchdowns and did more than his fair share to turn a loss into a win as Oklahoma faced eventual Big Eight Champion Nebraska that year. He finished with 14 tackles, including eight unassisted, and one for a three-yard loss.

He was taken in the 1992 NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers in the fifth round.

was named All-American in 1987 and is one of only three Sooners to be named all-conference four times. During 1987 he led the Sooners in sacks with eight and tackles for loss with five.

A very tough, quick defender, He was extremely durable during his career, coming back from injuries without losing a step. He is tied for fifth on the all-time sack list with 18. The defense he was part of during the 1987 season held opponents to an average of 7.5 points per game while the Sooners went undefeated during the regular season.

He was drafted by Green Bay in the fifth round in 1988.
