Tongue in cheek, Rosenbaum imagines a day in the winter of 2009 when an international crisis has erupted. "Do you want Barack Obama, the guy who has his finger on our nuclear trigger ... all irritable, his nerves and famously smooth temper on edge?"

"Give Obama a break," writes Rosenbaum, who makes clear he's not advocating cigarettes for others. "A smoking break."

The thing is, it's the smoking addiction that causes the irritability.

Satan is inside Obama's body and he needs to exorcise him.

they gotta find him a little room in the white house. although it is against the law to smoke in a federal building, you got to give the prez special privies.

Ya know, I have some days at the office where a BJ and a cigarette sounds pretty good and I'm not running the country. I say let the man have both.

All smokers, ex-smokers, and especially closet smokers understand the problem though. Obama will be in some meeting running long and there'll be a point he'll do anything to get out of there to go have a smoke. The nicotine is your master. It controls you.
