I got an infection on my lap top last Sunday from this board...it's called AV2009 listed internally in my system....it's a nasty bug and very hard to get rid of....you have to strip your HD and restore without it to get rid of it I'm told by IT dept......others have had it as well....just saying....:(

Your IT dept hasn't done there homework if thats what they are telling you..and how did you get it here?

usually that style of malware sits around for atleast a little while before it starts popping your alerts

your it department just finds it easier to reinstall then taking the time to clean

I usually tell people I don't like they have to reinstall everything because i don't like dealing with the cleaning

It's possible he could have gotten it here through the adds, sometimes they slip through google (or whoever the add provider is). They'd still require an interaction normally.

I think it did come in through an ad I accidentally hit.....it was shortly after I got out of it....about 30 minutes or so later... it started installing itself....damn bugs...I'll try yermons link...

If you got it, I'd bet money it came from an ad. In which case, Phil needs to have a chat with the ad provider about being a bit more careful what they let through.
