He might be backing up Blomar but I've heard stories about teammates having to put Blomar in check because of his cockiness. Sam has true leadership and thats something Blomar will never have.

All I know for sure is I'm glad we have Sam..

After reading it I was thinking about all the things that had to happen for Sam to be where he is. Halzle showed up in 2006 and if he could have beat out Thompson, he might still be the starter.

I'm still laughing about the comment where the guy accused Trammel of plagiarizing the NY Times.

Paul Thomson, the forgotten one, I wonder how much influence he had on Sam?

I still laugh thinking back to Stoops saying he didn't think we'd have a problem replacing 10 passing TD's a year.

Paul Thompson, he stepped up when we needed him the most. Blomar can pound sand as far as I care. Bring it home SOONERS!!!

It's kind of like, Connections, the stories of how seemingly unrelated events lead up to surprising and sometimes amazing results.

Rhett Bomar getting himself kicked off OUr team turned out to be a blessing in disguise and one I liken to me calling my ex up every Christmas to thank her for the divorce!

I'm seeing a lot of misspellings of our former (thankfully) quarterback's name, though. As an English teacher, that's somewhat disheartening... There's no "L" in Bomar, folks. Maybe it's a typo. Who knows?

ouskull: I think it's intentional. It's to deservedly disrespect Bomar, who disrespected his team. Hopefully, he's pulling himself up out of the mudhole he got himself in at SHSU. For everything Bomar wasn't character wise, Paul Thompson was. What a selfless individual and a trooper. Hats off always to Paul Thompson.

Hey, everything turns out for the good. Lookee where we're at now with Bradford.....couldn't have been any better & maybe OU wouldn't even be where we're at today with Bomar.

I heard a financial guru that knows about finances & draft positions in pro ball say that Bomar cost himself at least $10,000,000 in NFL draft position by stealing that $6,000 (which he had to pay back). I, for one, am glad he's gone. Also, I'm glad that Bob Stoops don't put up with that crap, regardless of how many stars rating you are (re: the 5 star wide receiver that got bumped off the team this year because of posting about killing on his website...way to go Bob--don't put up with that kind of stuff).

Having said that, Stoops has a heart if the player is willing to rehab. Remember when Dusty Dvoracek got into trouble & got booted? Stoops left it up to him, but he had to EARN his way back into the program. Admirably, Dusty did & performed well.

I hope no one forgets about Paul Thompson. There should be an award named after him. He will always be one of my favorite sooners because he never backed down from a challenge. He is the definition of class and unselfishness.

Hey Tramel, Way to plagerize a NYTimes atricle http://thequad.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/12/06/what-if-bomar-had-stayed (and add your moronic spin)

Let me know if a lawsuit for plagiarism comes from this, TIA.

Sounds like typical Tram BS. God he is almost as bad as Jenni Carlson. Just two examples of the nations worst major newspaper!

I don't think you can plagiarize a blog, can you?

Good to hear Bomar has changed directions. He had a ton of talent, and 10X the ego. I really just want him to be successful and to tell the world that Bob Stoops' hard stance is the reason he changed his ways.

I don't know where we would be with Bomar still here, but I am damn glad Sam Bradford has developed the way he has.

what was wrong with that article? it is true. bradford would be backing up bomar if he was still here. not that it matters, but it's true and interesting considering how bradford has turned out.
