well, I don't know if this is true or not yet, but it is getting a lot of message board play down here in the Sunshine State.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Confirmed by an inside source - O'Leary is to give his resignation announcement at the friday luncheon, he plans to retire to "spend more time with his family."

Strong will assume coaching duties on Monday. This is still tenative, but that's what has been verablly set up.

Several guys at at UCF forum say that it's a pretty much done deal. Won't be announced until after a press confrence tomorrow where the current coach resigns.

This one worries me.

I kinda of figured with the spread-option stuff blowing up, a team would take a flyer on Mullen. Bad timing, sure.

But I think there are a lot of experienced minds going into the offensive gameplan...most notably Meyer. I think we can live without Mullen (who is leaving for MSU, if you've been in a vacuum).

Now, Strong...he's a real good coordinator. Definitely an eventual head coach...just hope he waits a month.

It's not crippling, of course...but I'd like to keep Charlie around for a little while.

I hope so too...I don't wanna hear any excuses from the SEC bandwagon.

I want both staffs and players to be healthy and employed so it's all nice and clear one way or another. Too bad Reynolds won't be back so the good guys don't have a few pansies saying "what if" in the unlikely event we lose to an inferior team again.

Until I hear otherwise, I'm dismissing all the talk as just rumor.

Thanks; FWIW here's a link to an article at the Orlando Sentinel that should clear things up (the author of that article, Iliana Limon, also dismisses the rumors in her blog there as well):

Good news for Gators.
It's a difficult time of year for football fans, anxiety and Hollidays go together well.
