During soccer practice this afternoon my girls and I watched the 747 piggy back the shuttle to the NAS over here on the westside. Quite a sight to see.

Indeed it is. I was 13 years old, standing in the TG&Y parking lot at 74th & Penn when the piggy back flew over on it's way to Tinker. Quite a sight.

I was In Fla. a Long time ago when they Launched one . If I had Known How Close I was to the Cape I would have watched it .

It was supposed to stop here at Dyess AFB yesterday, but the weather forced them to stop over somewhere else. Apparently 60 mph winds and temps right at freezing dont mix well with a shuttle sitting on top of a 747.

I was in downtown OKC when that same shuttle flew directly over me going to Tinker. But I wasn't 13. ;)

It stopped here in Amarillo last year, I think. Unfortunately, it was before I moved here, so I didn't get to see it.

I have seen it several times when it has come to Tinker...it is an amazing sight indeed. It is something you will definitely remember for a long time.
