Internet Explorer. I hate IE more than I hate the Horns. Instead, use Firefox (even though it leaks teh memz). Or Google Chrome is good too.
http://www.firefox.com
http://www.google.com/chrome

Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader. Seriously, a 47MB download just to read a ****ing PDF? Instead, use FoxIt.
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader_2/down_reader.htm

Real Player. Window Media Player. Apple Quicktime. They all SUCK. Instead, use VLC. It plays everything and has lots of cool things, like the ability to offset the audio track in case you're watching something you downloaded and the video and audio are off.
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

Office 2007. What a piece of ****. I use OpenOffice and the only time I've needed any of the Office suite is when I needed to do a linear regression and Calc doesn't really have a stats package.
http://www.openoffice.org

I agree on Java. You can always tell when the JRE is in the house because the lights dim and you can see the coal stack at the powerplant get darker from the load increase. **** I hate Java.

Oh, and let I forget: Norton, Symantec, Nod32, AVG, and every other antivirus piece of **** out there. They're all placebos that use up your system resources for nothing.

Dreamweaver
My problem isn't with Dreamweaver so much as the shyte code it produces via the WYSIWYG editor. WYSIWYGs allow graphic designers to delve into an area where they have no business, HTML 'coding.'

I used to use Dreamweaver to code PHP/HTML about 5 years ago. It's ok as a text editor. Then I moved to the Zend Studio, which started to totally blow after version 4 (Java, natch). Now I use MS Visual Studio 2005 plus the VS.PHP plugin. It absolutely rules. There is an SVN plugin that also integrates very cleanly, VisualSVN.

Flash and PHP share one thing in common: great in the hands of a pro, awful and dangerous in the hands of a moron.

I'm getting pretty f-ing sick and tired of iTunes. It runs like molasses on a PC, and it runs like half a dozen background "services" that eat up CPU usage even when I'm not running iTunes. It drives me f-ing crazy. If I just had an iPod and not an iPhone then I'd use some alternative, but I'm stuck with it to sync my phone.

Graphic designers as in people who design a site visually? Anytime I want to do a visual layout of a page I use Fireworks . . .

I actually really like Homesite.

Because buying music from them is convenient. Their software and DRM are not, however.

Also, Real needs to be mentioned again for the sheer cancer-inducing hell it creates on the computer. My wife, God bless her, does her best to try to keep it off our home computer and it still shows up. When we hear the computer fan whine up to just below jet engine level, we know it's because Real has somehow started a service we never installed and cannot figure out how to kill. Isn't this illegal?

Dreamweaver is a decent text editor with with a bunch of useful site management utilities. I don't touch design mode, but it's a lot better than what Front Page ****s out. How did I forget to add Front Page to the list? That should be at the very top. Twice.

Who uses FrontPage anymore? Does MS even support it?

Am I (who am an idiot on this stuff) to assume any anti-virus program is useless?
