today has Florida by 3 1/2.
Anyone else think UF will get the heavier betting?

The line in our local paper, which I believe is the Glantz Culver line, opened with Florida -1x. It has now moved to Florida -3x, meaning the betting has weighed heavily towards Florida. I thought the opening line was way too low, with Florida only one and a half point favorites. I don't know much about betting, but do any of you bettors out there or Vegas watchers find any significance in the opening line being only -1x Fla.?

To me it means that they didn't really know what to do with it. They want equal money on each side. The more points OU is getting, the more people will take the points and take OU. I see it ending around Fla -4.

They are saying it's a toss up, Florida essentially has home field advantage which is worth about 3 points,

Currently 63% of the publicare taking Florida and the points and 89% is taking the over.

Our the going to have the infield on the field still? Since the Marlins do play there.

I just thought the opening line of Fla. -1x was surprisingly low, considering how the consensus was Florida would be a clear favorite, and maybe this was indicative of it being a trap game or sucker bet.

I am thinking 4.5 to 5 points in favor of Florida.

Just means there are way too many idiots out there.

If you plan on betting on the game, which I hope you do not if you are a Sooner fan or Gator fan....

Wait until a couple days before the game and then take OU and the points, if it continues to stay in favor of Florida.

If it goes over we WILL win.

If I remember correctly, the last time we played a Fla team in the NC game in Fla (2000) we were a 14 point dog. OU +14, won 13-2. Remember a line is only to balance a book.

I am in Vegas right now, as I was a couple weeks before the last time OU played in the OB for the MNC with a QB #14.

The consensus when people are talking about it is that Florida is free money. Just like FSU was thought to be last time.

I like the way this is shaping up.
