The more I think about this, the more I think about the WV game last year.
We're playing a similar offense and we had no way of stopping them.

I'm beginning to believe we may be in trouble again. :(

The only comparison that I can come up with is this..... (I'm not much on comparing teams, but it still gives a little bit of an idea)

Florida beat Arkansas 38-7

Texas beat Arkansas 52-10

I agree we will know more about Florida by how the teams they played perform in the bowls. It's amazing we haven't played them before? No history, no record no nothing. I guess we need to start another streak against a new team. :D

It seems that many of you, as well as most of UF fans, are predicting a very high-scoring game.
Have you considered the possibility of a torrential, tropical downpour similar to a few years ago, and the probable effect it would have on the offensive gameplanning?
I would think that any perceived advantage either team might have would be negated, turning the game into a Big-10-like affair, relying on a strong running game and defense, with a result being a relatively (especially for both of us) low scoring game.

Well, those were the conditions during the FSU game, against a supposedly tough defense, and we hung 45 on them.

Tebow threw three touchdown passes, ran for 80 yards and another score, and the Gators thumped No. 24 Florida State 45-15 in sloppy conditions Saturday. It was the most points Florida has ever scored at Doak Campbell Stadium.

"It was a good tail-whipping," FSU coach Bobby Bowden said. "I didn't think they would beat us like that here. The last time we had a beating like that was last year against them."

Florida (11-1) extended its winning streak to eight games, continued its dominance in the intrastate rivalry and set up a showdown with Alabama in next week's Southeastern Conference title game.
Gators weather storm, stomp on Seminoles in 45-15 rout (Link) (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/2008-11-29-florida-flastate_N.htm?csp=34)

If comes down to a strong running game and defense, you're in trouble. Your only hope is a track meet.

MojoRisen

Mud Favors Tebow

However, our D is better than people think especially if we don't have to worry as much about the pass. In fact I like our run defense - it get's even nastier if Carter and Harris can get involved.

I also like our Oline if they are forced into a 4 yards and a cloud of dust mantality.

So I take it back- Advantage OU

Tebow threw 3 TDs against FSU, during a monsoon, and we had 502 total yards to 242 for FSU. OU is the team that will have to worry about being one dimensional. We can win either way.

We would have beaten FSU very badly... I did notice that FSU moved the ball as well but could not capitalize in the Red Zone.

Our stat in that area is an NCAA record. If Tebow can pass in the mud- you better believe that Bradford can- no comparison there.

Dude, you're the one that said your D would be alright if it was a downpour and you didn't have to worry about the pass.

I simply pointed out our passing game wasn't significantly affected by sloppy conditions. So that means your D will have to worry about the pass.

I wasn't commenting on Bradford's ability to pass in the rain, simply saying your D will, by your own standards, have a problem.

I don't understand how some of you can be so confident (arrogant) after our recent bowl performances. It just makes our fan base look like *********s when we say that we are going to blow out Florida. Florida has the better defense and I don't think that is debatable and if you look at the almost every BCS championship game, the team with better defense tends to hold up the crystal ball at the end of the night. I want to win very very badly and I know the Sooners have a chance but some of you need to get real.

True.....TEBOW= HERO.. I love Tim Tebow, he has been all over TV lately.

NOT!

Good weather or bad weather Tebow can't and won't do enough to help Florida beat OU!

The way I see it, I'm not going to get my hopes up due to the last BCS perfomances. But this time may be different. We haven't been to a championship game in 4 years. Sooners have come along way since then and we've got more of a chip on our shoulder now. OU has been playing with ALOT of intensity lately. I watched the SEC ccg, and while Florida executed well, they didn't impress me that much with their intensity. And one cannot ignore the fact that they lost to an unranked team at home this year. You think that would happen in Norman this year? heh.

Florida already have an NC from 2 years ago, and Tebow the heisman. They are not as hungry as OU. It will come down to who wants it more. Both are very talented teams. I think it will be close until the 4th qtr like the OSU game. But whoever brings it will pull away in the 4th. OU by 15.

OU 31
Fla 24

Fla offense:
1 TD for Percy if he plays
2 2 to 4 yrd runs in the red zone by Tebow
and the obligatory 3 pts either at the beginning of the game or right before/after halftime

As for their defense and comparisons? The more I think about it, and after watching them against Bama, No way their defense is better than the LSU defense we played in the other BCS game. I just dont see them being AS physical nor AS fast as the Tigers of that day. Can they keep up yes, but I say our Oline wears on them and Wilson comes up w/ scheme that will confound their 2d level enough that, like typical fashion, will start blaming each other for breakdown on coverages.
