Baylor 49 45
Kansas 45 35
TT 65 33
OSU 61 28
Mizzou 61 56
aTm 66 49

I would trade that one for a win in the cotton bowl. This stat doesn't do much for me.

yeah this is a dumb thread. we blew out the same teams except for tech obviously. i don't think it really matters that we scored 17 more points on A&M.

now if you were to put the point differentials on there i think that is a valid arguement. I think that would be a valid tiebreaker. And i really think in the case of the threee way tie if all teams played each other they should do the plus minus of the 3 teams against each other. that way its decided on the field and not by computers. either way OU wins out.

what about points allowed? I know Texas wins some and OU wins some, and it might be about even overall, but i'm curious and too lazy to do the math

I'm going to ask Dan Thompson to ask you not to post in this thread anymore.

ok so i'm not too lazy to put off studying for finals for a few more minutes

points allowed: 159 (OU) - 131 (TX)

BU: 17 21
KU: 31 7
TT: 21 39
OSU: 41 24
MIZZ: 21 31
ATM: 28 9

About even, and probably insignificant considering both teams gave up a lot of garbage time points

Looking closer at the aTm example is interesting though. OU scored 66 in College Station, zero in the 4th quarter. Texas scored 49 in Austin, 21 in the 4th quarter.

First half stats would likely be the most telling for this comparison.

Texas beat us. Fair and square.

But they lost to Texas Tech and we won the tiebreaker.

'Nuff said. Now let's move on and quit trying to convince ourselves of what the pollsters and the BCS already have. We are in the title game. Validation is not needed.

What about the games where we averaged 48 points a game and didnt even try to anything in the 2nd half i.e. k state. we could have scored 80 that game but we didnt run it up. we werent trying to run up the score against tech, ok state, nebraska, kstate. Its just called being good. maybe mizzou but those guys wanted that record.

OU is plus 138 on common opponent

UT is plus 107

i did the math some time back before the mizzou game so it would be even more in favor of OU

remember, any time we score after the opening posession it's classified as "running it up"
