Lots of oranges in his bag, no doubt.

God, I hope not. Why would the Seed Sower be rooting for Boston College?

MODS: Doesn't this thread belong on the Football Board? I'm really tired of South Oval being overrun by sports info. :D

I think a bunch of small rubber, headless gators would be appropriate.

This is a trick question. Ok? you got to think about the answer.

If the Cotton Bowl is played in the Cotton Bowl and the Rose Bowl is played in the Rose Bowl. Where is the Orange Bowl played? The Sugar?

p.s. edit: hint, they tore the orange bowl down, it is gone, there isn't a sugar bowl in nwlins.

p.s.s. edit ? what does this have to do with the seed sower anyway?

The Texas Bowl is played in Texas.

Towards the end of the season, fans that want their team to get an invitation throw **** on the field.

Fred Smith would consider that a copyright violation as well as a terms of service violation in using those free boxes in an inappropriate manner!

so let's send a fedex box full of oranges then.

How would that be addressed?

OU IS NOT PLAYING IN THE ORANGE BOWL!

OU IS NOT PLAYING IN THE ORANGE BOWL!

i guess 'adhering to tradition' is where the game is being played (miami), not some spare sponsorship name that will be changing in a couple of years anyway. but hey, to each their own. I just thought it was a nice tradition and happy to see it caried out, even on the Tulsa campus. I guess we should not do it anymore as some seem to be a bit anal about it. :pop:

My nominees:

1- Sour grapes in honor of Texas
2- Lemons in honor of the BCS
3- Pro Players because it's played at Pro Player Stadium
4- Cuban cigars in honor of Miami's heritage

Last week it had a Hawaiian shirt on and there was an inflatable palm tree in front of it. Plus oranges, I think.

Jeez.

As the original orange-putter-inner from 2000, I'm with you OKLA21. I think it's fun to put in oranges when playing in Miami. Or decapitated gator heads. Or whatever. As long as it is relevant and students are having fun.

See, the difference is that in the 2000 season, OU played in a game called 'The Orange Bowl'. Then, oranges were appropriate - just as they were back in the '70s and '80s when the Big 8 had a tie-in with the Orange Bowl and OU and NU almost always decided the conference representative against each other at the end of the season. That's how the orange thing started - people tossing oranges out on the field when playing for the right to go to the Orange Bowl.

Now, OU is playing in the BCS National Championship Game. Not the Orange Bowl. They still play the Orange Bowl. But OU isn't in it this year. Putting oranges up there in the Seed Sower just makes one look ignorant.

KCMO- Wow, thanks, because the problem was that I didn't understand what you guys were yelling about. But NOW I do get it.

Anyway, like I said, as long as it's decently relevant and the students are having fun, I think it's fine. Even if it's oranges, roses, tostitos, or sugar.

3- Pro Players because it's played at Pro Player Stadium

It isn't Pro Player Stadium anymore. I actually the TGOWWDNSO was the last game in "Pro Player Stadium" as it was renamed Dolphin Stadium right after.

We could put dolphins in the seed sower's bag!

There are a lot of Cuban refugees in Miami; I think someone should hang Castro in effigy off of the Seed Sower's arm.
