BCS title game should pit Oklahoma vs. Texas

Don't be surprised Sunday evening if the BCS polls spit out the matchup that truly deserves to happen in the National Championship Game: An all-Big 12 final of the Texas Longhorns vs. the Oklahoma Sooners.
Yes, the Florida Gators are in the mix, too. But take a very close look at the BCS football standings from last week.
Texas was way ahead of Florida in the computer poll -- 3rd place vs. 6th place.
Meanwhile, Florida was already ahead of Texas in one of the human polls, and behind the Longhorns in another.
Summed up: The Gators' victory over previously undefeated Alabama Saturday may not be enough to boost Florida over Texas in the computer poll.
And if Texas can stay close enough in the human polls, the Longhorns could get into the BCS title game, as they deserve.
Remember, Texas gained some strength of schedule Saturday night, too, when OU ripped Missouri in the Big 12 Championship Game.
And don't ever forget that Texas is the only team to have defeated OU this year -- 45-35.
That accomplishment has become even more remarkable given Oklahoma's ongoing five-game streak of scoring 60 points or more against good Big 12 teams.
