A) Tomorrow I'm gonna wake up at 10:50 and throw on gameday and see the ever so popular Lee Corso picks.

B) Get a little late breakfast in me, because its going to be a bumpy day for me and other soonerfans. (boozing wise)

C) At 11 AM , I'll watch me a little Pittsburgh @ UConn to get the day started.

D) Ahhh Finally noon, I'll order the women to go pick up some chicken breast and some steaks up at the store (already got the beer dammit). Meanwhile I'll be watching a little Appetizer type game, Boston College and Virgina Tech for the ACC championship. Might end up falling asleep during this game, but I'll be up for the next game.

E) AHHHH finally 3 PM just in time for the SEC championship game. I think this is gonna be a classic battle. With Harvin doubtful I really think the Tide will stand a great chance. This is probably when I will twist off my first beer of the day (ya that's right I only buy bottle beer for big days, and I'm about sick of cans).

F) hmmm Bout halftime I will start getting Hungry, gonna have to start the grill up and throw some chicken and steak on it.

G) Should be done eating the time the sec Championship gets done, plenty full, with a few brews already killed.....

H) Well its about 6:30 now, I'll start doing my pre-game meditations......

I) FINALLY 7 PM......SOONER TIME. This is when the beer really starts to flow, I'll throw the game on HD and get ready to watch. This is when the people at my house who are not talking football, or are being distractions are asked to vacate the premises.

J) Game should be over at about 10:15-10:30, hopefully Sammy B throws for 6 td passes, this is also when i make the lady go pick up a hot and ready at Little Ceaser's Pizza. I Should have approximately 12-16 beers down.. ( all depends on how much Chase makes me laugh this game)

K) At this Time I'm getting ready for the Dessert portion of this Saturday. Our good Friends Cincinnati and Hawaii. I'm gonna be cheering like hell for cincy. why?? don't really know but I'll be way to drunk to go drive to some bar at this point, so i might as well show some fake intensity.

L) Game should be over the next morning and I'll probably end up passing out during the 4th quarter.

And finally,

I'll wake up the next morning as a big 12 champion!!!!!!

Let's hear your Saturday schedule..................

Probably get up sometime before noon and check out the C-USA and ACC title games. At the same time, keep tabs on Fort Smith Southside in the 7A state title game.

Then go to my friend's house before 3 to check out the SEC title game and the USC beatdown of UCLA, although it's awesome both teams will get to wear their home jerseys.

Hmmmm, then at 7, maybe pop in a comedy movie or something.

Yep, it'll be another typical college football Saturday in the 'O' household.

Get done with a meeting at 1500 hours and go to my billets and turn on the tv and catch the last part of the ESPN Gameday, then see what games that AFN will show after that. Maybe get a nap and dream about beer, since we are under General Order #1 ( no alcohol), then watch the SEC championship game and get ready to watch the Big XII game at 2AM Sunday, and hopefully be able to tease the Missouri National Guard that is here, about 1100 of them, when our SOONERS destroy the tigers.

Well, I they gave out some tix here on MacDill AFB in Tampa, and I said "hey, what the heck!" I need something to do instead of watch Corsuck whine this morning. Then I get back from the game and watch the SEC Title Game. It's kind of a big game down here! If nothing else, I am going to watch it for sheer curiosity about OUr next opponent. If 'Bama wins, expect for there to be Armageddon down here in FLA. If FLA wins, I expect some engaging conversation down here for the next month when I wear my Sooners stuff to the store. I will then start my pregame rituals, and by halftime my wife will have her headphones on to drown out my sheer joy.

I'M ON SCHEDULE

MamaMia
12/6/2008, 12:24 PM
I stayed up late doing laundry so I slept in this morning. The maid woke me and PapaMia up with coffee and pecan cinnamon rolls, so we finally stumbled out of bed, took a shower. Hes reading his Wall Street. I just put on my sparkly OU shirt and turned all the TVs to the Game Day channel.

Yesterday the maid and I finished cleaning the house from top to bottom. I like to do that before we get out the interior Christmas decorations. I'll listen to Game Day as we put them out.

Then around 2:30, my daughter who isn't at the Florida and Alabama with her sisters, and I will make potato salad and baked beans during that game while Papa grills some burgers. Then it will be OU game time. At the half, I'll serve the strawberry bread I made last night.

Then we'll probably fall asleep listening to Kirk Herstreit and his fellow jock itch salesmen trash the Sooners.

This board needs a shot in the arm, a reminder of the awe-inspiring Sooner Magic that penetrates the entire Crimson and Cream nation; a Sooner Magic that goes far beyond and far deeper than what Switzer always managed to pull out of his rump against horrified and befuddled Tom Osborne-coached mid-80s Nebraska teams.

So I'm taking one of my oldest and dearest friends to her first OU football game this weekend. She's a graduate of a small, religious, ORU-type school in the middle of East Jesus Nowhere (Searcy, AR...wherever the hell THAT is). The only real exposure to college football she's ever had has been going to the occasional Razorbacks game with her dooshtool of an ex-boyfriend. I sent her an e-mail with directions, along with an itinerary that gave me goosebumps as I was reminded of everything I love about University of Oklahoma football. Read on:

"Saturday is a day full of glorious tradition and curious ritual. I generally wake my *** up at 8:00 so I can shower and such before ESPN's College Gameday comes on, but you are perfectly welcome to sleep as long as you like. No one will bother you. I'll happily make you breakfast, as simple or elaborate as you could possibly want. Gameday lasts from 9-11, and watching that is non-negotiable. Kickoff is at 6 p.m., so I figured we could head to campus early afternoon. The drive to the stadium will consist of two songs: Metallica's "Enter Sandman" and Fat Joe's "Make it Rain," and trust me, we WILL crank that **** up to 11. Once we hit campus, I'd like to quickly show you where I work, then we can walk around, grab lunch and a beer, and soak up the atmosphere. I enjoy watching the band's pregame concert on Jacobson Lawn, which is a good place to encounter past and present friends of mine. We'll then proceed to the stadium, stopping briefly to watch the parade pass by, then get into the stadium, where the magic will truly happen. Under no circumstances will we be leaving the game early, as that is for quitters, socialists, and Texas fans. After the final shotguns blast, we'll fight traffic back to my apartment, taking back roads that most locals aren't even aware of, and breaking so many traffic laws that even the Dukes of Hazzard would blush. We'll likely be so exhausted by the time we arrive home to my apartment that you'll sleep through the better part of Sunday."

Feel better, good posters of SoonerFans.com.
