...OU has the most electrifying offense in maybe the past 40 years.

And he didn't even mention Texas! WOW!

They have to talk to game up so they will have a lots of viewer, lots of Ad dollars, and lots of money. It doesn't matter who is playing to them, they are just 'selling' the boardcast to the viewers.

I, for one, am always excited when Herbstreit emerges from his tanning bed or as he calls it - his hyperbaric isolation chamber with such nuggets of wisdom.

It was on sportscenter live. He was doing it from the set in front of the Georgia dome

He better not tan too much or he'll continue aging out of his young hot quarterback face and get replaced by another young hot quarterback on that show. Lord knows they can't have three old guys and Desmond on that show, tee hee.

Speaking of Desmond. Did they lose a bet or something and so they have to keep him on the show or is he there just to keep corso from being the biggest idiot on set???

I can't start threads, so i am going to post this here. My friends and I our having a running debate. Who wins. This years version of OU vs. 2000 Natl champ version of OU?

Desmond, the guy who said, "If Oklahoma beats Tech, I still rank Tech above Oklahoma, no matter what the score."

Add in Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit, and you have an ALLSTAR broadcast booth.

It seems like most of the debate has been over who deserved to go to the big 12 championship game. More than half that would spit out Texas turned around and said OU might be the best team in the country. Now that the big 12 delima is behind us, the media have started to come back around to realizing were simply the best. :D

Well, for every Kirk there is a Colin Cowherd. That dude flip flops on thoughts, but I like his non-sports topics.

He said...and I quote..."OU's offense is a poor man's version of Florida."

Couldn't believe I heard that. Our 4,000 yard passing QB who already has accounted for over 50 touchdowns...corps of receivers and lineman...our soon to be 2, 1000 yard rushers...are a poor man's version of Florida.

Also said Florida will kill OU. And I hope they get the chance and keep hearing about it for the next month.

espn has almost no consistency on any subject, it was inevitable they finally come around to something resembling reality. if we stomp on mizzou there will be an annointing of our offense as "the greatest ever". y? bc it helps ratings. its exciting.

i reserve judgement for greatest offense ever until after the title game, but i can definitely see it, specially if we put 50 or 60 on mizzou and bama/flawda. which would be soooo sweet :)

I like Cowherd's show, except when he talks about OU.

Colin Cowherd does NOT like OU. He looks for ANY angle he can find to downplay OU football.

From what I understood, he took OUr side in the UTerus debate and told them to basically shut up.

This is in no way me trying to endorse Desmond by the way. ;)

actually, he tends to favor OU, not as much as he likes pac-10 schools

he's become less trusting based on our recent history

Well...ummmm.....hmmmmm.....

All we have to do is score 17 points and this offense will be considered the best offense ever by the NCAA record books.

The overall record is 765, but as far as current D-1A teams go, the record is 656 points (14 games) and 652 points for 13 games.

So they would not be lying if they said OU's offense is the best ever. If we score 60+ on Missouri, then we will be the first and only team in the modern era of football (post WWII) to have scored 700+ points and only the 3rd team to have ever done it in cfb history!

FWIW, if you math is off, OU has scored 640 points so far this season.
