for those attending the game...
Not good...
Friday: Hi: 38 Lo: 33 PoP: 10%
Saturday: AM Snow Showers. Hi: 44 Lo: 25 PoP: 30%
Sunday: Hi: 37 Lo:30 PoP: 10%

I live in central Kansas, and just 2 days ago no chance of precip was being called for here or there. Now it looks like each day it is going up.

Just be prepared. If you are going to the game, take a cardboard box or a piece of carpet to put on the concrete so your feet do not freeze. It will make a huge difference, especially if there is ice or snow in the seating area of Arrowhead. (I think someone mentioned this before)

Good thing it looks like it will still be slightly above freezing when the game starts.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. Southwest wind between 10 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 41. Southwest wind 10 to 16 mph becoming north northwest. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. North northwest wind between 5 and 9 mph.

.DISCUSSION...

A SECONDARY PUSH OF COLDER AIR WAS SETTLING SE ACROSS THE CWA THIS AFTN WITH THE COLD SFC RIDGE TO EDGE INTO MISSOURI TONIGHT. THE MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES AND LIGHT WINDS WILL PROVIDE FOR ANOTHER COLD NIGHT WITH TEMPS A FEW DEGREES COLDER THAN LAST NIGHT.

OTHERWISE...NORTHWEST UPPER FLOW REGIME TO CONTINUE IN THE SHORT TERM WITH A COUPLE OF SHORTWAVES TO BRUSH THE CWA THROUGH SAT NGT. WARMER DOWNSLOPE SWLY WINDS IN ADVANCE OF A SHORTWAVE IN THE NRN PLAINS WILL WARM TEMPS ON FRIDAY BEFORE A SFC TROUGH RUSHES THROUGH MO FRIDAY NIGHT. ALTHOUGH THE SHORTWAVE WILL HAVE THE MOST IMPACT TO THE NORTH OF MISSOURI...WEAK TO MDT ISENTROPIC LIFT ON THE 285 SFC MAY TRIGGER A FEW FLURRIES FOR THE NERN GRIDS.

DOWNSLOPE SFC WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO WARM TEMPS ON SATURDAY IN ADVANCE OF THE NEXT CLIPPER SYSTEM LATE SAT NIGHT. ONCE AGAIN...APPEARS THAT THERE WILL BE SUFFICIENT SATURATION FOR XTRM NWRN MO AS ISENTROPIC LIFT IS SUGGESTED AHEAD OF THE SHORTWAVE IN
SD.

MEDIUM RANGE (SAT NIGHT-THU)...

AN ACTIVE PATTERN WILL CONTINUE INTO THE MEDIUM RANGE PORTIONS OF THE FCST...WITH SEVERAL CHANCES FOR PRECIP ON THE WAY. MEDIUM RANGE GUIDANCE REMAINS IN RELATIVE AGREEMENT INTO MON... ADVERTISING A CONTINUING NW FLOW PATTERN INTO NEXT WEEK. BY SAT NIGHT AND SUN...AFOREMENTIONED EMBEDDED S/W TROUGHS WILL INDUCE A PERIOD OF RATHER STRONG ISENTROPIC LIFT CENTERED ON 285-290K SFCS. MODEL RH PROGS AND SOUNDINGS OFF OF NAM/GFS INDICATE A BRIEF PERIOD OF COLUMN SATURATION NEAR AND AFTER 12Z SUN FOCUSED PRIMARILY ON THE NORTHWEST CWA. SOUNDINGS ALSO INDICATIVE OF SNOW FORMATION...WITH LOW OR LITTLE QPF EXPECTED.

It's snowing pretty good in the Denver metro with a Temp around 20 degrees. I checked a couple of forecast maps and they show this storm moving rapidly Northeast instead of directly east, but we were only supposed to get a light dusting too. Hopefully this thing will leave KC and the roads up from Oklahoma clear and only cold.

Pussies. In 1995 in Eagan, MN, it didn't get above -15 for two weeks with lows in the -30s and I was there going about my bidness... going to work, hitting the bars, throwing boiling water in the air to watch it freeze before it hit the ground... and you didn't hear me complaining about it like you hillbilly punks... sack up and put on a coat!!!

the 2000 game... I found out after the fact my Dad turned down FREE tix because he knew "I'd be dumb enough to drive up there"

Wish I'd been smart enough to stay away from the '03 game. But the '04 game was pleasant I suppose.

Still, I consider it retarded to play an outdoor game at KC in Dec... at NIGHT. Let the SEC have have the primetime in their cozy Atlanta dome.

What Big 12 brain surgeon is so in love with KC? Probably the dimwit is still trying to place a game in Fargo at some point.....
