At least according to Sports Illustrated.

The Big 12 website says otherwise.

WTF?!?!

Oh nevermind. I finally realized that this is the AP awards.

AP is a joke.

Colts stats are really close to Sam's ........... not

No, but Colt' coach cries more than Sam's does. It's the tear factor.

Wow,
of the 9 players OU landed on the 1st team,
only 1 of them was from Texas ????
Imagine that.

kinda shoots a hole in that recruiting slam the horns always give us.

I have no problem with any publication naming him the conference Offensive PoY. Without what he did for them Texas arguably had no offense.

Long as Sammy gets the Heisman....

Gotta' agree with Scott. Hate on him all you want (he is a 'Horn, after all) but the dude with the funny name can play some football. I have no problem with whatever awards go his way, though of course I think Sam is even more deserving and has the stats to prove it.

mccoy had a good year I'll give him that much but a compliment is all he'll get from me. Bradford for heisman, we need one more for Heisman Blvd.

I have no issues with Colt winning anything at all. I was just being dumb and thought that SI was effing up and reporting the wrong winner.

OK, I'll go there.

Both QBs are great players and had great years. Let's say on field performance was a push.

So, for the tie-breaker, I'll say Bradford took his team to the CCG, and Colt fell short -- so my nod goes to Sammy. The next tie breaker is BCS ranking.;)

((*&^^*()___(&^^ I want to see the ballots, and see how the press voted. I'm sick of the press whining to see the coach's ballots and they don't disclose their votes. Screw 'em. I want to see a vote breakdown per pollster from these hacks.

Hey, I completely agree that Colt McCoy is the most offensive player of the year. Absolutely. 100%.

It's not a "Big XII MVP" award, which I would give to McCoy based on Texas being much worse without him behind center than we would without Bradford. Here's Bradford's total offensive numbers compared to McCoy:

Bradford: 4,119 total yards, 51 TDs
McCoy: 4,021 total yards, 42 TDs

McCoy is definitely deserving, but it sounds like he was awarded this based on who the most valuable player to their team in the Big XII is.

His award should be for acting. The two greatest scenes were the stunts he pulled on the sideline of the RRS.

But at least he's a man, and should clearly be answering questions for his tearfully pleading head coach.

I say we go with the head to head argument on this, Sam is taller!

This may have been discussed already, but my brother-in-law and I had a drinking game going on Thanksgiving night. Every time the cameras showed McCoy's parents, we'd take a shot of Crown. After three shots (I think in the first few minutes of the game), our wives intervened and handed us beers. I stopped counting at 12.

There are so many awards now everyone will get one. Hell, don't be shocked if the Niagara Falls Tribune names Iowa State's fullback the Big 12 player of the year. It has turned into a YMCA everyone wins-fest!

Looks like you've included the rushing stats in that? I suppose that's fair, although I'd say generally QBs are compared on passing yards only.

For passing yards:

Bradford: 4,080 with 393 attempts at 10.38 per attempt (that is monsterous)
McCoy: 3,445 with 375 attempts at 9.19 per attempt

Colty is a solid runner though, so should probably consider that. He is certainly deserving of the Heisman, but Sam is just a little more deserving.

I would say that Chase Daniel is the most offensive player in the big 12 with Colt McCoy a close 2nd

Dallas is closer to the equator causing Colty McColt Colt's fathead to swell higher. Neutraly (sp.) though.
