Would it be a bad idea to have all conference teams play each other?

In the '70's the college all-star team played the superbowl champs. Never was much of a game to my recollection, just for fun, but it gave the college kids a taste of what it would be like in the pro's. Never happen today will all the big time contracts; couldn't risk injury. Almost like that on the high-school level today. Several colleges frown on their recruits playing in all-star games.
