4th quarter scoring in 2008:

OU 72
OU opponents 78

& this includes a 24-15 advanatage in the 4th quarter last Saturday when OU had no choice but to keep scoring due to OSU's offensive success.

UT 115
UT Opponents 61

Well, it was a running play.

After Gundy--GUNDY--calls timeout and his defense just doesn't care anymore. I guess Chris Brown could have run down to the one and taken a knee, but...

Chris is only about 12 yards from having 1,000 on the year. Murray is just over 1,000. When's the last time we had two 1,000 yard rushers...?

Plus a 4,000 yard passer!?

Here's our scoring by quarter:

1st - 215 (17.9 per game)
2nd - 203 (16.9 per game)
3rd - 150 (12.5 per game)
4th - 79 (6.6 per game)

(My 4th quarter total is off by one from the previous poster but the point is made.)

Only twice did we score more than one TD in the fourth quarter - OSU 24 and Cincy 10.

Well, the UTPD is on the case.....

Statesman.com - UT police on case of missing percentage point (http://www.statesman.com/sports/content/sports/stories/longhorns/12/02/1202texcops.html)
FROM STAFF REPORTS
Tuesday, December 02, 2008

Rest easy, Longhorn fans, the University of Texas Police Department is on the case.

The following entry appeared Monday on UTPD's "Campus Watch" online police blotter, right there among the public intoxication charges and criminal trespass warnings:

DKR-TEXAS MEMORIAL STADIUM

Robbery: Several UT staff members, faculty, students, and Texas Ex's discovered a fraction of a percentage point had been taken and was transported across state lines. The percentage point was discovered north of the Red River at the campus of another Big 12 South University.

At least they haven't lost their sense of humor (which is pretty amazing because, in our dealings with UTPD, they've never shown that they had one).

Let justice be served.

"Here are some fun stats on OU running up the score this season:

22:11 - Chattanooga
4:10 - Cincinnati
16:39 - Washington
4:44 - TCU
7:51 - Baylor
6:41 - Kansas
6:41 - Kansas State
17:01 - Nebraska
21:23 - Texas A&M
13:54 - Texas Tech

Those numbers add up to:
121 minutes, 15 seconds.

That's the amount of time between the last snap Sam Bradford took and the end of the game. There were 2 games (Texas and Oklahoma State) in which Bradford took every offensive snap. That's over 2 hours, more than TWO ENTIRE GAMES that Sam Bradford did not play because he was sitting on the bench.

Oklahoma was 11th in the Big 12 in fourth quarter scoring. Texas was 2nd.
Against Texas A&M, Texas scored 21 points in the fourth quarter, all while ahead by at least 25 points. Up until that point in the entire season Oklahoma had only scored 48 points in the fourth quarter."

Obviously, this reporter is a ut grad. Granted, his statements about Switzer may (or may not) have been accurate. As I recall, Kerry Jackson was from Galveston, Texas and we all know how Texas High School administrators and coaches (and especially those in the DFW area) have changed grades to keep star athletes eligible.

Ref. Kerry Jackson> http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,912711,00.html?iid=digg_share

Ref. Dallas Carter >http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/111008dncartercopy.197076fac.html

But, I'm digressing. The point is this reporter's lack of research and mean spirited tone show the true sole of a T-sip.

In the late 70's, when texass could no longer consistently win in the SWC, they cried cheating all the way to the NCAA. Ultimately, every school, including texass, was dealt some measure of punishment for breaking NCAA rules. Ultimately, SMU got the death penalty and the SWC was on the virge of collapse before being rescued by the Big 8.

As I see it, the SOONERS that jumped the land rush all started in texass and many of the ncaa problems at OU and OSU (remember Dexter Manley who left a Houston HS without being able to read) have roots in texass.

So, who are the real cheaters?:texan:

A bitter rant about "class" that was more classless than any of the points you made against the University of Oklahoma.

Why do many, many people despise the media? Because they have a soapbox that we don't and instead of honoring that great responsibility, they abuse it with deceit and complete lies. This tiny-market mouthbreather is a perfect example of what I'm talking about.

Fact: Colt McCoy was pulled early from 9 games. Fact: Sam Bradford was pulled early from 9 games.

Fact: The University of Oklahoma scored more points in the first quarter this year than several other of the 119 teams scored in their entire season. Oklahoma's starters were typically out of the game by the fourth quarter.

Fact: Take a look at the Texas/Texas A&M game and tell me when Texas pulled their starters. It was late in the 4th quarter.

Fact: Barry Switzer was not the head coach when Oklahoma committed the violations that placed them on probation. In the '70's, he won one of his three national championships while on this probation.

I'm not as angry at this buffoon as I am at the incompetent station manager that hired him.

Can I come on your station and comment on that tie?

OU is a classless university thats why we kicked OUr starting qb off the team and a couple other players for taking money, yea that makes a lot of sense. OU made their case for the CCG on the field. Mack begged and tried to sell texASS.

My favorite "bitch, is you stupid or just a moron?" moment is when he cried about how "voters like big scores". Aren't the voters the dickholsters who switched their votes to try and sneak Texas back in?

Seriously, scorched earth. By the time we're done scoring, I want that sh*tty public access circle-jerk of a station to be smoldering from our white-hot fury.

2. OU is in the Big 12 Championship game.
3. ???

Hearing this bufoon talk about OU and Switzer being cheaters while Royal and UT run a clean, classy progam got me to thinking, yes OU did go on probation under Switzer in 1988 and it lead to Switzer's resignation. What this Horn shill fails to mention however is that UT went on probation 3 times under Royal.Royal resigned at UT because he had his A$$ handed to him by OU to a tune of being 0-5-1 in his last 6 RRR games.
