They interviewed a guest, I think it was Edwards but I could be wrong...
Anyhow, he said that he wished the Big 12 would be like the SEC, where the rule is you drop the lowest currently ranked opponent out of a three way tie leaving head to head results, which would leave UT.
But he followed by saying, in MOST conference senarios that UT would go.

This in turn inspired some research...:D

here are the 5 other BCS conference rules webistes for 3 way tie breakers...

1. Big east: http://www.bigeast.org/fls/19400/pdfs/football/tiebreak.pdf?DB_OEM_ID=19400&KEY=&SPID=11215&SPSID=94741 (http://www.bigeast.org/fls/19400/pdfs/football/tiebreak.pdf?DB_OEM_ID=19400&KEY=&SPID=11215&SPSID=94741)
2. Pac 10: http://www.pac-10.org/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/111605aac.html (http://www.pac-10.org/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/111605aac.html)
3. the afore mentioned SEC: http://www.secsports.com/index.php?s=&change_well_id=2&url_article_id=46 (http://www.secsports.com/index.php?s=&change_well_id=2&url_article_id=46)
4. ACC: http://www.theacc.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/082105aad.html (http://www.theacc.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/082105aad.html)
5. Big 10: http://bigten.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/102204aad.html (http://bigten.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/102204aad.html)

Can someone please correct me! When looking at the other 4 BCS tiebreaker rules (other than SEC and Big12)...
IT looks to me like OU would win out in senarios in the following conferences:
Big east - due to current BCS ranking

ACC - Based on tiebreaker #6 - non div foe Cincinatti won its conf and is 10-2 which is the best opponent conference or non coference record between the three and is the only conference champion played between the three

Big 10 - Based on most recent losses between the three - TT most recent and UT 2nd most recent (Rule B, section 6, subsection E)

and Texas Tech would win in the Pac 10 based on Rule B section 2 which says: (2) If more than two teams are still tied after the process above is completed, each remaining tied team's record against the team occupying the highest position in the final regular season standings shall be compared, with the procedure continuing down through the standings until one team gains an advantage.
Texas played OU when #1 and TT when #6, but TT played UT when #1 and OU when #5: so Tech wins the highest ranked opponents played scenario.
So Edwards was either speaking out of ignorance or blatantly lied or I'm missing something. Because in the 5 other Major BCS conferences, UT would only go in the SEC.
If you base the decision even on points, OU goes...
It seems the only way these media folks can make there argument is to discredit TT, and that's a shame! Just think how the other coaches in the conferences will feel when they get into a three way tie...will they be viewed as the step child by the media? If it were up to ESPN, 2nd tier conference foes would never make it to the next level, because in his view...thier wins don't count.
