This article raises some very interesting problems with not only the BCS, but the polls. Namely how OU and Florida both LOST significant amounts of votes in both polls for getting big road wins on the road at ranked opponents who were rivals, normally wins that would raise both teams votes, but inexplicably they dropped while Texas, who got a nice win but certainly not as impressive as either OU or Florida's, was raised in both polls. Me thinks Mack Brown's nose is awful brown right now.

I have no problem with someone ranking Texas above Oklahoma before the game against OSU and keeping them above OU after the game this weekend. What I have a problem with is Oklahoma(and Florida for that matter) DROPPING points in the polls for getting very impressive road wins at ranked opponents while Texas gained in the polls. That is inexplicable except for obvious attempts to manipulate the polls rather than reward the team for the win they had the last week. And yes, I would be saying the same thing if the teams were switched. As I've said I'm fine with ranking UT above OU, but not dropping OU in a poll after their win this weekend. That's unfair and unethical.

When the BCS was created many years ago, the polls were supposed to provide a passive element of the overall formula. But as the polls have been given more power, there's been trend toward voters attempting to serve a very active role as a virtual selection committee.

Ballots have ceased to be one man's opinion. Some of them are trying to manipulate the outcome of the race, and that's not what the polls were intended to do.

Thanks to the Big 12 for exposing yet another flaw in this system!

Good find--and absolutely true. One of 2 things happened for these voters:

1. These pollsters were unaware that Texas beat OU and were somehow made aware of it this last week, or
2. they were manipulated by Mack's pleading

In either case, they shouldn't be voting.

Yep, this is the real story this week, not about how-unfair-head-to-head blah blah, it's that college football is on the verge of corruption.

Not politicalization - corruption.

Care to speculate on what went on behind the scenes the past week? Think a bunch of voters just sat in a vacume, thought it over, then decided Texas clearly outplayed both OU and Florida in the final game?

B.S.

The NCAA and university presidents better get this mess cleaned up in a hurry.

I've said all along that UT was giving more than a call or text. I honestly don't think that many votes would have changed if it were only rhetoric.

Sounds like Mack was successful making a deal with Florida voters to screw OU. Florida controls their own destiny when they play Alabama, thus no harm in voting for Texas this week. Conspiring to switch votes and influence BCS outcomes is messed up. Wonder if this "irregularity" and also the politicking of ABC/ESPN will ever be looked into. Should scare all BCS schools.

The Coaches' poll hit it right. The computers for the most part stayed consistent. The official turd in the punchbowl is the Harris poll. Its top 4 looked amazingly similar to the AP top 4.

A turd by any other name would still smell like sh*t.

You know the funny part? As hard as they tried, they STILL couldn't keep us out. They'll keep going until something happens so ridiculously blatant that someone in charge calls shenanigans.

The gentlemen of the Harris Poll. Put your hands together. They as a whole voted us 4th in lockstep with the AP. Money says Lee Roy threw in at least ONE vote to help us out.
